Local exchange:AXT12103 handles traffic both from normal telephone sets, (PABX)
exchanges and other types of subscribers equipment (PMBX)
exchanges as (hicom, hybrex, siemens, etc.), the (10) exchanges
1
Transit exchange :Transit traffic is switched through the AXT12103 network and to other
networks, when any trunk routes between AXT12103 exchanges is out
of service or all channels are busy also if there is no direct cables
between AXT's exchange, the traffic calls are divert automatically to
another trunk route and thats can be determined with a special menu
in AXT exchange ( determined by levels priority ) .

network structure.
SYSTEM STRUCTURE.
It consist of three levels:1- System (APT, APZ).
2- Subsystem (magazines for APT, APZ).
3- Functional units (boards, buses, .).
AXT12103 is divided to two main parts:-
CABINET ARRANGMENT
We have " 7 " cabinets at least connected in one row or two row.
Each cabinet consist of " 7 " magazines or shelf's.
Magazine " A " in each cabinet called (DM) Distribution Module,
used for power distribution to the other magazines inside that
cabinet, also this magazine contains Fan System Unit which consist
of " 4 " fans which used for cooling and for rotating the air inside
the cabinet.
In the bottom of each cabinet there is a filter used to protect the
cabinets from dust.
Cabinet # 1 & 2 : Contain the same magazines and they are duplicated to each other.

F304 :- SYNCHRONIZATION
35
This menu used for controlling the synch. On the AXT network, by
( trunk- routes ) on channel no. ( 0 ) .
AXT04 is the master exchange in the network and the others are
slaves exchange.
The master exchange has ( 3 RCM ) which supply the ( 3 CLM )
with the required frequency.
In this menu we can see the STATE of the AXT exchange
( MASTER or SLAVE ), and the REF synch. Source and its
indicate a ( * ) on selection column, also the active CLM on work
now, and the priority for the REF. synch. Frequency to be taken .
F304 , SUP: This menu used to indicate the ( Frequency Deviation ) for the ( 3
CLM'S ) with related to the reference synch. Frequency source.
The frequency deviation should be reduced to zero as we could
( max. to 10 ), if the deviation increase than that, this will cause
some problem for the traffic calls like ( humming, distortion noise,
clicks, weak sound ).
We can make adjustment on ( MOC board ) on the CLM mag.
( ROF 131 821/4 ), any changed will be appear on this menu
( F304 , SUP ).
One turn counter clock wise for the escrow on the MOC board will
increase
( 400 ) unit, and one turn clock wise will decrease ( 400 ) unit.
F311 :- FAULT MENU
Used to appear the faults and the problem's that occurred on the
AXT exchange or network ( software or hardware ) faults, it
indicates the faulty units name and no., the alarm type, present or
previous faults, automatic or manual block, and the date and the
time for the faults.
There is some commands that could be used like: Block, deblock for AXT units.
