The immediate-past Blast e-mail was jam-packed, but it only covered a portion of

the domestic-agenda; nevertheless, key-points therein are worthy of recapitulation,

prior to encompassing the rest of this data-dump [conceptualized maximally to
minimize potential sensory-overload]; lotsa accumulated-info still remains, primarily
focused on politics and culture.
The NCAA/Penn-State Settlement has rectified matters, as far as
most JoePa fans are concerned; some harbor a residual desire to retain
a pound of flesh from the late-great coach [as manifest in chatrooms] and others wish to exact a pound of flesh from the NCAA, but
most people seem relieved. That this outcome could have been
predicted will remain a multi-faceted thorn in PA-history, manifest with
regard to Corbetts implosion and AG-Kanes pending demise.
Regarding Philly-sports, the fact that there is any meaningful
discussion of the Iggles is encouraging, although it seems the Fightin
Phils will languish in the absence of an overhaul.
That Breitbart News is carrying the exclusive livestream of the [sold-out] 3-day
meeting [concluding Monday] of the Tea Party Patriots of the South Carolina Tea
Party Coalition (SCTPC) in its entirety will continue to provide background video
while typing tomorrow; the father/son Cruz-dyad were a hit and, assuredly, Ted will
be emerging from the pack after others [Santorum, Huckabee, Mitt, Jeb, Chris,
Marco] are long-gone [as will be the subject of an extensive update, infra].
Remember to sign-up for Teds IMs by typing 33733 Constitution and recall that
Rep. Gohmert intimated a potential-resolution to the issue of defunding BHOs
Executive-Amnesty; if an iron-clad criterion were not met within a defined timeframe, generous funding for enforcement of border-security would be provided to
the states [delegated responsibility].
'American Sniper' became an instant-hit [harboring arguably the
political overtones that illustrate why BHO tossed-away a
demonstrable achievement], but it wont be possible to handicap the
Oscars until three more flicks have been viewed [along with shorts,
which are often grouped in pentad @ the Ritz-Bourse in Center-City].
Constant vigilance is needed to block efforts to create a public health
paradigm to justify enhanced gun-control laws; my [published] letterto-the-editor of the Annals of Internal Medicine [Sklaroff RB. Guns,
Suicide, and Homicide. Ann Intern Med. 2014;160:876-877] that
debunked the effort to convert gun-control into a medical-risk, should
remain controlling. And if it is found that Operation Choke Point is
being used to undermine legal gun-commerce, it wouldnt be surprising
if it would also be found that AG-Holder had orchestrated this program.
A Little-Known ObamaDontCare Provision [Multi-State Plan] could Lead to a Public

New York Times Endorsed Thought Crime
Kelvin Cochran, the Fire Chief of Atlanta, published a book (with permission from the
Ethics Office for the City of Atlanta), in which he expressed his Christian faith on
sex, marriage, and life. For that, the New York Times says he included virulent antigay views.
Actually, Cochran endorsed orthodox Christian views.
He was fired more than a year after the book came out. A retiring lesbian fire
captain suddenly felt brave enough to complain. The Mayor, needed urban, white
liberals for his next election threw the Fire Chief under the bus.
The New York Times is okay with that. According to the Times, It should not matter
that the investigation found no evidence that Mr. Cochran had mistreated gays or
lesbians. His position as a high-level public servant makes his remarks especially
problematic, and requires that he be held to a different standard.

Yes. A leader is not allowed to take positions that might offend. Particularly, a leader
cannot offend gays by having public Christian views.
It does not matter that there is no evidence of discrimination. His thoughts preclude
him from his job.

Iran continues to move its nuclear program

forward, with another show of "chutzpah" this
week:
Iran has begun construction on two new nuclear
plants as negotiations with America over its contested program continue in
Geneva, according to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
Construction of the nuclear plants, which Iran claims are for peaceful energy
purposes, was revealed on Tuesday, the day before Secretary of State John
Kerry was to meet with his Iranian counterpart for talks in Geneva.
Omri Ceren provides an important overview of Iran's efforts and the feckless
diplomacy that has brought us to this point.
There has long been bipartisan support in Congress for stronger sanctions
against Iran. When the new Congress convened this week, Iran was a high
priority issue. Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) expressed his concern that as negotiations
drag on and sanctions relief is extended, Iran is gaining ground and current
sanctions are losing efficacy. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) "warned the Obama
administration on Tuesday that Congress will hold a vote on any final deal on
Iran's nuclear program - and, if unable to prevent the president from lifting
sanctions on Iran, would work with the next administration to re-impose them."
Republicans in Congress are seeking enough Democratic support to guarantee
veto-proof majorities for legislation on Iran, with action expected in late
February or early March. An updated version of the bipartisan Kirk-Menendez bill
"would impose several escalating rounds of increased sanctions on the Iranian
economy that would begin on June 30 -- but only if Iran fails to sign on the
dotted line of any negotiated agreement or fails to live up to whatever it
stipulates," according to Josh Rogin at Bloomberg. The House is also preparing
for action on this issue.

It's not exactly a shocking revelation that liberals are interested in supporting
Republicans who want to drag their party to the Left, especially after a historic
midterm election where liberalism got its posterior kicked sideways. Give the Left
credit for springing into action after just a few days of freaking out at the stupid
voters, and writing tear-soaked screeds about how we probably shouldn't have
stupid midterm elections anyway, or maybe we shouldn't even have Congress--at
least not when a liberal Democrat is president. After screaming into their op-ed
paper bags for a brief interval, they set about undermining the Republican wave by
seeking to convince the winners that they should behave like losers. There are
plenty of receptive ears in the Republican power elite for that message.
