Alexandra Halaby Named North American Spokesperson and Media Liaison
for Palestines International Middle East Media Center (IMEMC)
(CHICAGO, IL) January 19, 2015--On Monday, January 19, 2015, the International
Middle East Media Center (www.IMEMC.org), an independent media collective
providing English-language coverage of news from Palestine and Israel,
announced the appointment of Alexandra Halaby as its North American
Spokesperson and Media Liaison.
Alexandra Halaby is an experienced journalist who has been published at
Huffington Post, NSNBC International, The World Post, Palestine Review, and,
IMEMC. She studied Organizational Leadership with a focus on Public Relations
at Bethel University. She has continued education through Global
Organizational Leadership courses at University of Geneva, and Journalism for
New Media at Poynter Institute for Media Studies.
She previously served as a volunteer with the United Nations Population Fund
for Palestine under the direction of Leena Elias Salameh, formerly of the UNFPA
Jerusalem office. Alexandra also served as Volunteer Ambassador with
American Friends of UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency in the
Near East-USA) and is a member of Amnesty International.
In her position as North American Spokesperson and Media Liaison, Alexandra
will represent IMEMC in the United States and Canada. All press releases, media
notices, fact sheets, and updates from the IMEMC offices in Beit Sahour,
Palestine, will be issued through Alexandra.

In the event of renewed conflict in the region, Alexandra will be available to
provide updates by email, telephone, video, and on-set appearances. She will be
providing information directly from IMEMC journalists on the ground in
Palestine and Israel.
Alexandra Halaby is an eloquent speaker who is well-versed in the
Israel/Palestine situation and history of the region. She is able to speak to the
complex nuances of diplomacy as well as the political background of the fifty
years occupation of Palestine. As a guest pundit she represents IMEMCs
professional code of ethics by being fair and comprehensive in her statements.
The International Middle East Media Center (IMEMC) was founded by the
Palestinian Center for Rapprochement Between People in 2003. IMEMC is a joint
Palestinian-International media collective providing English-language news and
information from journalists located in Palestine and Israel. IMEMCs
editor-in-chief is Beit Sahour native, Saed Bannoura, who manages and edits all
news, features, and opinion pieces published by IMEMC.
