It is certainly true that China has really done with its rural nonfarm economy, the reasons being as follows:
1. Implementation of the Open-door policy in China, which has contributed in a large measure to its remarkable export growth
in recent years.
2. Rural township and village enterprises have generated employment for the rural labor force released from agriculture.
3. In 1990's, when China's rural manufacturing sector was thriving, India witnessed a decline in the share of rural nonfarm
manufacturing in national GDP.
