Geography
The Republic of China today consists of the
island of Taiwan, an island 100 mi (161 km) of
the Asian mainland in the Pacific; two of-shore
islands, Kinmen (Quemoy) and Matsu; and the
nearby islets of the Pescadores chain. It is
slightly larger than the combined areas of Massachusetts and Connecticut.

are alike. Only the sewing style alters
between the sexes.

Dalabu: female garments are more


exquisite than menswear. Those
wearing a whole suit were considered
elegant and graceful.

Guanshiyin, the Goddess of Mercy, and other divine

first day of 1984 and is Taiwans first
national park.

With a history thats over 400 years old,
Hsinchu, Taiwan is known as the oldest
city that is situated in northern Taiwan.

National Palace Museum is one of


the best art museums in the world
with more than three million visitors
annually.
