The Box is an entertainment show for the family.

It will be shown on
Channel 4 at 7:00pm and broadcasted nationally.
Four members of the public have to do a variety of challenges involving a
box. The aim of the game is to collect as many points from each level and
win the ultimate prize.
In level one, four contestants, individually go through a set of six boxes to
find a key in each one to open the next box. The keys are hidden in
objects, items or substances within the box. The contestant in unaware
what is inside the box with the key. Each box is worth 10 points and each
contestant has 1 minute to find all the keys and open all six boxes. At the
end of this round, whoever has the least points is eliminated from the next
round.
In level two, three contestants individually have to do a challenge. For this
level there is are a variety of themes for each programme; for example,
country inspired, schoolroom, etc. For this programme the theme will be
Egypt. Each contestant has to find three keys and a ball within the room;
they can either be in props or anywhere around that room. Once they keys
and ball are found, the contestant can then unlock the lid of the pyramid,
put the ball into the top and can do the maze. The ball has to go through
the maze and into the basket at the bottom of the pyramid. Each
contestant has 1:30 2:00 to complete the challenge. The two
contestants, who do this challenge in the quickest time, go through to the
next level. Depending on how long they took depends on how many points
each contestant gets for this level, for example, 0 -1 minute - 50 points,
1:01 - 1:30 25 points, etc.
In level three, all the points they each received from level one and two are
then added up individually and then turned into time, for how long they
have to do this challenge. For example 60 points = 1 minute. The final two
contestants use their mouth to collect as many coins from one box to
another. There will be two different coloured coins mixed within other
substances and whoever collects the most blue coins wins the challenge.
Within the boxes the type of items and substances there will be are; saw
dust, straw, mud, feathers, baked beans, porridge, etc. There are simple
products that are cheap and available anywhere.
The VTs are the pre-recorded footage and in total there will be four. Three
VTs will show what the contestants have to do in each level. One VT will
be used to introduce all four contestants. The three VTs will last about 2030 seconds, where a random person will show how the contestants have
to do the challenge. By having this shown, will give the audience a better
idea on what the contestants have to do. Having one VT for introducing all
contestants is best as it shows who they are, where they are from and also
a bit of their quirky personality. This VT will last for about 1:30; this will
give enough time to introduce all the contestants.
This show is something new to the UK and is entertaining for the family.
Everyone likes to watch random people do challenges, however old you
are. This show has the opportunity of having celebrity specials and holiday
specials.
