Review papers from young scientists in the following areas:
Use of renewable resources in the coating Industry.
Advancement in Anti-corrosive coatings.
Self Healing Polymer chemistries for Surface coating applications.
Surfactants derived from renewable resources - Opportunities in Paint application.
Use of micro - encapsulation technique for enhancing coating properties.

The winning entry will be honored with a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 20,000/The second best entry will receive a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/The runner up entry will receive a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/-

Rules & Regulations:

The participation of institutions is by invitation only.

2)

The contest is open to all students pursuing a full time Masters degree in Science, or
B.Tech/ M. Tech in Paint /Oil/ Chemical/ Polymer or Plastic Technology.
Participation can be on individual or team (maximum 4) basis.

Each team should comprise students from the same institute. No inter-institute teams
shall be allowed.

5)

Participants are required to submit their entries through their professor in charge of the
contest departments at the respective institutes.

6)

Each institute should submit not more than 10 entries.

7)

Each review paper should not exceed 6000 words.

The deadline for sending the entry is 30th November 2013. You may mail your papers
through your department professor. Soft copy of Papers can be sent on

10) Evaluation of entry material will be done by an internal panel of experts at Asian Paints
Limited. Evaluation of the entry would be based among other things, on the quality
review, drawings from the current literature, citations & accurate references and
opportunities in that area for the Coatings Industry.
11) All entries and materials submitted by the participants to the respective professors in
connection with the contest along with all copyright and other proprietary rights
associated therewith shall become the property of Asian Paints Limited upon
submission and shall not be returned to any participant.

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the participants acknowledge that
Asian Paints owns all rights to use, modify, reproduce & otherwise commercially &
non-commercially exploit the entry materials in any manner.
12) Asian Paints Limited reserves the right to suspend, postpone, cease, terminate or
otherwise modify the contest at any time, without assigning any reason at its sole
option & discretion & Asian Paints Limited shall have no liabilities, whatsoever, in any
such event.
13) The evaluations are confidential and at the discretion of Asian Paints Limited. All
decisions are final and binding and may not be contested.
14) The decision of Asian Paints Limited on any disputes arising out of or relating to the
contest shall be final & binding on all institutes & no correspondence will be
entertained in this regard.
15) These terms and conditions and any disputes, difference or claim of whatever nature
arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions) shall be governed by,
and construed in accordance with the laws of India and shall be subject the exclusive
jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai.
