process in every department. They attempted to make their jobs easier. Technology
is one of the tools to solve those problems.
We need to implement a new process to help students in terms of enrollment
process, finding rooms and retrieving grades. This case study is proposing new
programs to help the students in every difficulties with current processes.
Mission

Statement of the Problem
This case study will discuss the major problems of the university wherein the
students encountering a step-by-step process on enrollment and getting final
grades. This manual process makes the students and parents upset because they
are still waiting for long period of time to have their appointment processed.
Core Problems
Specifically, the study will discuss the following:
1. Step-by-step process of enrollment that makes the students tired because
they still need to go room by room and floor by floor. Some universities are
currently implementing this kind of process and we need to develop a strong
system in-line with our process.
2. First day of class is an exciting moment for the students especially for the
newly enrolled students. Some of them are freshmen and transferees.
Instead of going directly to their respective classroom, they need first to go
the bulletin board with so many papers listing the respective room of every
students per subject and per year. We do need to develop this poor kind of
system so that we can focus to the other problems that school is facing.
3. After a semester, students still to go back to school to get their final grades for
the semester. However, before they can get their grades, they need to get an
approval per department proving that they are cleared in every department
especially in bursar for their full payment tuition.

Objectives of the Study

AR E L LAN O U N I V E R S I TY
General Objective:
The general objective of this study is to develop and innovate the system
used by Arellano University JAS Campus in order for them to give faster Enrollment
to their students.
Definition of Terms
1. Website - is hosted on at least one web server, accessible via a network such
as the Internet or a private local area network through an Internet address
known as a Uniform resource locator.
2. Joomla - is a free and open-source content management system for
publishing web content. It is built on a modelviewcontroller web application
framework that can be used independently of the CMS.
3. Wamp Server - is a Windows web development environment. It allows you to
create web applications with Apache2, PHP and a MySQL database.
Alongside, PhpMyAdmin allows you to manage easily your databases.
Scope and limitations of the Study
Scope
This research will be conducted to determine if it is efficient to establish a
website with the utilization of an online enrollment system as distinguished by the
management and staff of Arellano University JAS Campus.

AR E L LAN O U N I V E R S I TY
Limitation
The researchers limited this study for Arellano University. The study will be
conducted using a web-application software but does not accommodate online
payment. The payment transaction is only between the agreement of the school and
students by the use of contact information.
Significance of the Study
To the School This study will help the school transact the students faster.
To the Students This study will help the students for them to conveniently
enroll faster.
To the Future Researchers - This study will help them to have an initial idea
about the online enrollment system.

Overview of Existing System
In the existing system, Arellano University JAS campus is still using manual
transaction in their enrollment so it results to the students is getting a hard time
doing it. They will experience a long process of enrollment. First you will need to be
evaluated at the deans office on what subjects you will need to take. Go to the
function room or to your deans office for the next step. Next step is to encode the
subjects you have chosen. Then if it is already encoded you must fall in line to the
bursar to pay how much your tuition is. And the last part of the process is to print
your registration form at the function room. So see, it is so hard if we just use a
manual procedure of enrollment. We need more time doing it. So it is really useful to
have an Automatic Enrollment System.
Feasibility study
Overview of Propose System
In the propose system, Arellano University JAS Campus will use a fast and
easy to use system transaction in their business. The flow to enroll students easier
using this system are the students must first sign in or create an account, filled up all
the system requirements and wait for the admin approval. When the admin approves
your account the students will go in log in form then after log in the students will go
on to register page to fill out registration form, choose the subjects you want to take
and again wait to admin warning if the subjects that you choose is applicable or not.
If the admin confirm that the subjects are applicable to take for a semester, the
admin display the payment.

want for easier keeping of records. Also it will help them to lessen their efforts to go
back to school to enroll.

RECOMMENDATIONS

20

AR E L LAN O U N I V E R S I TY
The proposed online enrollment system designed by the researcher based on
the foregoing findings of the study, the following are recommended for future
enhancement to the developed Online Enrollment System for the next developer or
future researcher is to:

1. Upgrade the system to online inquiry, so that the client can easily get a
feedback or answer once they send an inquiry or message.
2. Upgrade the system by including online payment through PayPal, thus giving
their client the ease of easily and immediately paying their order without
leaving their home.
