QUALITY MANUAL.

Chief Quality Control Engineer
The BCOI Chief Quality Control Engineer is responsible to develop, distribute, and control this
manual and to implement quality program auditing to ensure the effective implementation of
the construction quality system.

REQUIREMENTS
6.1
This manual establishes quality system requirements for all construction activities performed
by Bechtel. These requirements may be augmented on projects where external quality
systems are specified (e.g., ASME Codes, U.S. Code of Federal Regulations). The quality
system described in this manual meets the requirements of ISO 9001, 1994.

Instruction Q1.1
This manual is subdivided into four sections with each section having one or more instructions
defining the specific requirements:

The revision status of individual instructions is indicated on the Table of Contents page of
the manual. The manual and all subsequent revisions will be approved by:
a. Manager, Construction Resources and Technologies
b. President, Bechtel Construction Operations Incorporated

Requests for revisions to this manual shall be forwarded to either the Chief Quality Control
Engineer or the Field Engineering Manager for review and disposition.
6.5.3
Manual revisions shall be reviewed and approved and issued for use in same manner as the
original document.

Project specific quality manuals and their revisions shall be approved for use in accordance
with the Project Quality Plan.

The exhibits contained in this manual are intended to illustrate typical examples only.
Adherence to the specific details shown in the exhibits is not mandatory. The use of
alternative exhibits on a project is acceptable as approved by the Project Field Engineer.
