Eden Place Nature Center announces its first adventure

camp. Following guidelines from the "Lets Move Program", it is
our mission to aide in the exercise and fitness of our youth.
Lets Move is a comprehensive initiative launched by the First
Lady Michelle Obama. This program is dedicated to solving the
problem of obesity within a generation, so that children born
today will grow up healthier be and able to pursue their dreams.
Camp Eden offers just that
Within a fun adventure filled weekend, counselors teach
activities designed to enhance the youths appreciation for the
environment and provide an easy and affordable alternative to a
sedentary lifestyle. Camp Eden will introduce students to
healthier lifestyles and work alongside of them and their families
through the progressive health changes. Students learn to
embrace physical and mental health shifts that will last a
lifetime.
Situated on the 750 acres Torstenson Family Youth
Conservation Center, managed by the Illinois Conservation
Foundation. Camp Edens goal is to reconnect the youth to their
home; planet earth. Through camping we will teach basic
outdoor survival skills, in addition to team building, leadership,
time management and critical thinking skills.
Camp Edens goal is to influence change that will last a
lifetime. With this vision in mind, our impression will not stop
after one weekend. All information will be supported with a list
of affordable and accessible resources for both the parents and
children to continue on the grounded path of healthy growth.
