designedfortheselectedwheel.Wheelsforwhichthepowertoolwasnotdesignedcannotbe
adequatelyguardedandareunsafe.

b)Theguardmustbesecurelyattachedtothepowertoolandpositionedformaximum
safety,sotheleastamountofwheelisexposedtowardstheoperator.Theguardhelpsto
protecttheoperatorfrombrokenwheelfragmentsandaccidentalcontactwithwheeland
sparksthatcouldigniteclothing.

c)Wheelsmustbeusedonlyforrecommendedapplications.Forexample:donotgrindwith
thesideofcutoffwheel.Abrasivecutoffwheelsareintendedforperipheralgrinding,side
forcesappliedtothesewheelsmaycausethemtoshatter.

d)Alwaysuseundamagedwheelflangesthatareofcorrectsizeandshapeforyourselected
wheel.Properwheelflangessupportthewheelthusreducingthepossibilityofwheel
breakage.Flangesforcutoffwheelsmaybedifferentfromgrindingwheelflanges.

d)Donotrestartthecuttingoperationintheworkpiece.Letthewheelreachfullspeedand

e)Supportpanelsoranyoversizedworkpiecetominimizetheriskofwheelpinchingand
kickback.Largeworkpiecestendtosagundertheirownweight.Supportsmustbeplaced
undertheworkpiecenearthelineofcutandneartheedgeoftheworkpieceonbothsidesof
thewheel.

f)Useextracautionwhenmakingapocketcutintoexistingwallsorotherblindareas.The
protrudingwheelmaycutgasorwaterpipes,electricalwiringorobjectsthatcancause

a)Beawarethatwirebristlesarethrownbythebrushevenduringordinaryoperation.Donot
overstressthewiresbyapplyingexcessiveloadtothebrush.Thewirebristlescaneasily

b)IftheuseGrinderofaguardisrecommendedforwirebrushing,donotallowany
interferenceofthewirewheelorbrushwiththeguard.

Threadedmountingofaccessoriesmustmatchthegrinderspindlethread.Foraccessories
mountedbyflanges,thearborholeoftheaccessorymustfitthelocatingdiameterofthe

balance,vibrateexcessivelyandmaycauselossofcontrol.
