the candidate at the examination venues and should therefore be preserved carefully. Life Membership of the Institute is a prerequisite for taking up the JAIIB/CAIIB
examinations.

Yes IIBF conducts classes for the JAIIB/CAIIB examinations at major cities across the country. Experienced faculty interacts with the candidates in a class room
atmospherecoveringthesubjectindetail.ThecontactclassesareconductedonthreeSundaysonemonthbeforetheexamination.Theschedulesofthecontactclasses

choiceanswers.IncaseofJAIIBeachexaminationisfor120questions(70questionscarryinghalfmark,35questionscarryingonemarkand15questionscarrying2
marksdrawnfromalltheunitsofthecourseware,IIBFvisionetc)tobecompleted/attemptedin120minutes.CAIIBexaminationsarealsofor120minutesbutcontain100
multiple choice questions including 40 or so questions of case lets and situation analysis or problem solving). Questions will be based on information, knowledge,

HowmanyattemptsareprovidedtocompletetheJAIIB/CAIIBexaminations?

Eachcandidateisrequiredtopasseachexaminationofthreepapers(JAIIB/CAIIB)withinfourconsecutiveattempts.ForthispurposeeachexaminationoftheInstitute,afterthe
candidatehaspaidthefeeforthefirstblockisreckonedasanattemptwhetherornotthecandidateappearsfortheexamination.Forexampleifacandidatehadappliedforthe
firstexaminationinMay/June2011thefourattemptswillcometoclosebyNov/Dec2012,whetherornotthecandidatehasappearedforthefourattempts.Thisisimportantfor
thepurposeofcredittransfersinthecaseofpapersinwhichthecandidatehasscoredthepassmarks.Thecreditforpassinoneormorepapersinoneormoreprevious
examinations/attemptswillbeconsideredonlywithinthefourattempts/fourconsecutiveexaminations.Aftertheendofthesecondblock(afterfourexaminationsbeginningthe
applicationdate)thecandidatewillbetreatedasafreshcandidate.
Incasecandidatehascompletedthethreepapersinthefirstblockoftwoattempts(twoconsecutiveexaminations)thereisnoneedtopayforthesecondblock.However,incase
thecandidateisnotabletocompletetheexaminationinthefirsttwoattemptshe/shewillhavetoappearforthenexttwoexaminationsimmediatelyfollowingthefirsttwo
attemptsbypayingtheexaminationfeeforfurthertwoattempts(block2).Insuchcases,ifthecandidatehaspassedoneormorepapersinthefirsttwoattemptsthecreditfor
thesameisgiveninthenexttwoattemptsandthecandidateneedtoappearforonlytheremainingpapers.Thesecondblockrunsimmediatelyafterthefirsttwoattempts(first
block).
ContinuingtheaboveexampleifacandidatehasappliedfortheJune2011examinationthesecondblockstartsinJune2012.Ifthecandidatedoesnotapplyforthesecondblock
inJune2012butappliesinDec2012thecandidatewillhaveonlyoneattemptleftinthe2ndBlock.Ifthecandidatedidnotapply/appearforthe2ndblocktilltheendofDec2012
thecandidatewillhavetoapplyfreshforMay/June2013inwhichcasehe/shewillnotgetthebenefitofpassifanyintheexaminationsheldin2011and2012.
Ifthecandidate,afterthe1stBlockmissesboththesubsequentattemptshe/shewillhavetoreappearforallthepapersasafreshcandidate.Insuchcasesalsothecredit
transferforanyofthepaperspassedintheprevioustwoattemptsislapsed.
Candidatescancarryoverthecreditofthesubjectspassedtillthefourthattempt.Ifthecandidatediscontinuesafterthefirstblock,orifthecandidatedoesnotcompleteallthe
papersinthefourconsecutiveexaminationsthecandidatecannotcarryforwardthecreditinrespectofthepaperswhereinhe/shehasscoredpassmarks.
Thefeeforthefourattemptsiscollectedinblocksoftwoattempts.Initiallytheyhavetopaytheexaminationfeeforthefirsttwoattempts(block1).
Howtogettheelearningandwebclassfacility?

InstitutehasintroducedelearningtoalltheJAIIBpaperstoenhancetheunderstandingoftheconcepts.Institutehasalsointroducedwebclasses(prerecordedvideo
classes)forallthepapersofJAIIBandCAIIB(compulsorysubjects)covering2530hoursoflecturesforeachpaper.Thecandidatescanaccesstheselessonsattheir
convenienceandfromtheirplaceofchoice.TheuseridandpasswordtoaccesstheelearningandwebclasseswillbesenttoallthecandidatesregisteredfortheJAIIB/
CAIIBexaminations.

Whenwouldtheresultsbedeclared?

TheresultsofanyExaminationconductedbytheInstituteareusuallyannouncedwithin50daysfromtheclosureoftheexamination.ForJAIIB/CAIIBExamination,printedresultadvices
(originalaswellasduplicate)willnotbesentbutthesamewillbeavailableonInstituteswebsitewww.iibf.org.ininprintableform.Candidatesarerequestedtodownloadthe

same.TheresultadvicesofDiploma/Certificateexaminationwillbesenttothecandidateswithin10daysfromthedateofdeclarationofresultandalsowillbemade
availableonthewebsite.

CanIchangetheexaminationCentre?

Candidatecanseekchangeofcentreofexaminationsongenuineofficialgrounds.Suchrequestswillbeentertainedonlyifitisreceived45dayspriortotheexamination
date.Asthenumberofquestionpaperstobesenttoeachcentreandnumberofcomputersineachonlinecentreisfinalised45dayspriortotheexaminationdateitis
notpossibletograntchangeofcentresincasetheapplicationisreceivedwithlessthan45daysremainingfortheexamination.
Iwanttoapplyforverificationofmarks.Whataretheprocedure/feestobepaid?

Verificationofmarksispermissibleonlyforofflineexamination.ThememberscanapplyforverificationofmarkstotherespectivezonalofficesoftheInstitute,withinone
monthfromthedateofdeclarationofresult.TheverificationfeeisRs.150/persubjectwhichispayableonlybywayofademanddraftpayableatMumbai,NewDelhi,
ChennaiandKolkataasthecasemaybefavouring'IndianInstituteofBanking&Finance'.Verificationapplicationshallnotbeentertainedifreceivedafteraperiodof30

The completion memorandums are despatched one month after the declaration of results of a particular examination. The final certificates are despatched within six
monthsafterthedeclarationofresult.Incaseamemberdoesnotreceivehis/hercompletionmemorandum/certificate,heshouldapplyimmediatelytotheCorporate
OfficeoftheInstituteatMumbai.Thecompletionmemorandum/certificateofamemberiswithheldifhisexaminationfeeisnotpaidorifhismembershipsubscriptionisin
arrearsorifhisexaminationapplicationformisnotreceived.CandidateswillhavetopayanamountofRs.100/togetaduplicatecertificate.Thedemanddraftshouldbe
favouring'IndianInstituteofBanking&Finance',payableatMumbaionly.

DiplomainMicroFinanceandAdvancedDiplomainCooperativebanking.Diplomaexaminationshavemorethanonepaperandareaimedatprovidinghigherlevelof
knowledgeinputs.InstitutealsooffersCertificateexaminationsinTradeFinance,AntiMoneyLaundering/KnowYourCustomer(AML/KYC),CustomerService,Basicsof
Banking, Credit Cards, SME, Information System, Quantitative Technique, Project Finance etc. Certificate examinations are of one paper each and offered in online
mode.

Any ordinary member of the Institute irrespective of whether they have passed JAIIB/CAIIB can take up the Diploma Examinations. Nonmember with Graduation
qualificationcanalsotakeupalltheDiplomaexaminations/Certificateexaminations.However,forDiplomainBanking&Financetheminimumqualificationis12thPass
andtheDRA/BCBFexaminationseven10thPasscandidatescanenrol.
