SENIOR CREDIT OFFICER


(1 POSITION)
Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) seeks to appoint dedicated, self motivated and highly organized
Senior Credit Officer (1 position) to join the Retail Business Banking team. The work station is
Head Office.
Reporting Line: Senior Manager Group Lending
Locations: Branch
Work Schedule: As per TPB Staff regulations
Division: Group Lending
Salary: Commensurate to the Job Advertised
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-

To provide assistant to Senior Manager Group Lending on ensuring quality group


lending portfolio for branches.
To ensure collections/repayments of group loans in branches as well as ensuring the
loans are managed in accordance with the group loans credit policy and lending
manual
To assist Senior Manager Group Lending on follow up of queries raised by internal
and external auditors and BOT.
Assist branches in reconciliation, dealing with suspended transactions and mis
balancing on related G/L accounts of group lending.
In coordination with branch managers, he/she will deal with list of borrowers who
have missed loan installments, unserviced loans, under/over deducted installments
To assist Senior Manager Group Lending on ensuring that weekly, monthly, quarterly
and annual portfolio reports are prepared.
Liase with the branches to ensure that no queries are raised by customers or auditors
with regard to group lending products
Ensure that all group loan repayment are collected and deposited into TPBs bank
account by group officials within 12 hours by cross checking group funding accounts.
Cross sell other TPBs products and services
Participate in the preparation of annual plan and projections for group loan portfolio
Provide inputs for the review group lending policy and procedural manual
Ensure accurate and timely filing of both group and individual loan documentation.
Attend any other duties as may be assigned by Senior Manager/Chief Manager Group
Lending or Director of Retail and Business Banking.

Key responsibilities
Achieve and maintain the set monthly and annual targets .
Compile periodic reports on the ongoing loan disbursement process
Ensure accurate equinox system data and timely filing to all group loan documentation
at head office
Generate and instill solidarity group pressure in each group as the basis of
co-guarantor ship in branches
Developing capacity in the group lending section; and from time to time participate in
loan appraisals for group loans and at branches and participate in the credit committee
for the main purpose of building.
Conduct business in conormity with banks policies and procedures as well as the best
practice

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED


Education:

Bachelor degree/Advance diploma in Banking, Economics, commerce,


Business Administration, Finance or Accounting from any recognized
University or equivalent.

Experience/Skills

Skills / Attributes:

The candidate must have a good knowledge of micro


finance with significant experience in ggroup lending and at
least 3-5 years experience at supervisory level.

Must have experience on core banking system.


High level of integrity
Must be keep on details
Excellent communication and report writing skills
Ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision
Personable and able to relate to people at all levels
