Indians lose to St. Joe Christian


The Tarkio High School
Indian Basketball Team
traveled to St. Joseph, MO,
to compete against St. Joe
Christian. Tarkio lost the
contest 37-63. Seth Fletcher led the Indians with 11
points (one three-pointer)
followed by Connor Shaw
with 10 points. Also adding
points to the Indians score

were Colin Joesting with


six points (one three-pointer), Brendon Bruns with
four points, Luis Villagrana
with four points, and Shae
DeRosier with two points.
Coach Robbie Bates said,
Lack of consistent effort and
execution hurt us. We must
find a way to carry over from
practices to games.

Lady Indians beat Lady Lions


The Tarkio High School
Lady Indian Basketball
Team traveled to St. Joseph,
MO, to compete against St.
Joe Christian. Tarkio won
the game 37-25.
Hadley Barnett led the
Lady Indians with 11 points
(three three-pointers). She
also had one assist and four
rebounds. Emily Graves
scored 10 points for Tarkio
and had three assists, five

steals, and seven rebounds.


Gentri Staten added seven
points to the scoreboard (one
three-pointer), and had two
steals. Christina Hall scored
four points and had nine
rebounds. Shelby McCartney scored three points and
pulled down nine rebounds.
Tawni Martin added two
points and pulled down one
rebound. Madison Ohrt had
three steals.

Monday, February 2 - Breakfast - Cereal, toast, pineapple tidbits, juice, and milk; and Lunch - Chicken and
cheese crispito, corn, romaine, mandarin oranges, pineapple tidbits, and milk.
Tuesday, February 3 - Breakfast - Sausage breakfast
bagel, cheese stick, pear half, juice, and milk; and Lunch
- Beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, fresh carrots, pear
halves, sliced peaches, bread and butter, and milk.
Wednesday, February 4 - Breakfast - Pancake, peanut butter, mixed fruit, juice, and milk; and Lunch - Chicken strips, baked beans, fresh carrots, fresh oranges, pear
halves, and milk.
Thursday, February 5 - Breakfast - Breakfast wrap,
cherries, juice, and milk; and Lunch - Cheeseburger on a
bun, winter veggies with cheese, spinach, pineapple tidbits, mixed fruit, and milk.
Friday, February 6 - Breakfast - Cheese stick, apple
breadstick, sliced peaches, juice, and milk; and Lunch Biscuit and gravy, tri-tater, green beans, sliced peaches,
banana, and milk.
A 2nd entree and a chef salad are now available
the 5th-12th of each month.

Lady Indians fall to
for first win of the season
Lady Bulldogs in close game

The Tarkio High School


Indian Basketball Team
hosted the Fairfax Bulldogs
on Friday, January 23, 2015,
at the Tarkio High School
Gym. It was a fantastic
game between boys who had
been teammates during the
football season!
The Indians showed great
effort and teamwork and defeated the Bulldogs 50-38.
This was the first win for the
Indians this season. Connor
Shaw scored 27 of the Indians points (one three-pointer). Shae DeRosier added
eight points. Colin Joesting

scored seven points (one


three-pointer). Seth Fletcher
added six points (one threepointer) and Brendon Bruns
scored two points.
Tarkio Coach Robbie
Bates remarked, It was a
very solid defensive effort
overall. The boys took positive steps forward both offensively and defensively.
Now, we must keep building
on this win.
The Indians will host
West Nodaway, Tarkios
homecoming game, this Friday, January 30, starting at
6 p.m. in the THS Gym.

Lady Indian Basketball
Team hosted the Fairfax
Lady Bulldogs on Friday,
January 23, 2015, at the
Tarkio High School Gym.
Both teams played a great
game! The Lady Indians and
Lady Bulldogs were neck
and neck for the last couple
of minutes, with the Lady
Indians falling behind by
two in the last minute. The
final score was Tarkio 35 vs.
Fairfax 37.
Emily Graves scored 17
points (two three pointers)
for the Lady Indians. She
also had two assists, nine
steals, and seven rebounds.
Christina Hall scored 10
points and had one steal

and 10 rebounds. Gentri


Staten added five points to
the Lady Indians score and
had one assist, two steals,
and one rebound. Hadley
Barnett scored two points
and had one steal and three
rebounds. Madison Ohrt
added one point to the Lady
Indians score and stole one
ball and pulled down two rebounds. Shelby McCartney
had two assists and pulled
down six rebounds. Tawni
Martin had one assist and
two rebounds.
The Lady Indians will
host West Nodaway this Friday, January 30, at 6 p.m. for
Tarkios homecoming game
in the THS Gym.

GENTRI STATEN - Above, thinks about her next move in
