Potholes/ Bumpy Path- Upon visiting this location I noticed there are
a few potholes on the path the actors will be running on. Before we
film, we will make sure we look over these areas along the path and
advise the actors to wear suitable, comfortable and gripping shoes and
look carefully where they are running. We will also take a first aid kit so
we are prepared if an injury where to occur. Risk rating- 5
Road Safety- Cast and crew will need to cross a busy road to get to
the park, so we will all make sure we cross the road safely, making sure
we use a designated crossing to do so. If it is dark we will wear high
visibility jackets to make so we can be easily seen but this shouldnt be
necessary as we will be filming during daytime hours. Risk rating- 4
Weather- Since we are filming in the winter, it is going to be cold. We
will check the weather forecast before heading to the locations, and if it
is forecast to rain we will make sure the cast and crew take coats and
rain jackets to keep warm and dry. We will designate an inside area
where cast and crew can go on breaks to keep warm.
Risk rating- 2
Camera/ Equipment- Rainy weather can also be a risk to the
equipment, so we will take plastic covers and an umbrella to keep the
equipment undamaged. We will also take a lense wipe to use if the
camera lense gets wet or fogs up- this will help to sustain a high quality
film. We will ensure that as crew we will be sensible with all the
equipment we use. We will handle the camera with care, taking a
camera bag to put it in when we are on breaks, and make sure it is
safely secured to the tripod to prevent it from falling. When we are
using the tripod we will make sure it is placed on secure ground, to
ensure it does not fall and break. Risk rating- 3
Theft- Special care will be taken to make sure all the equipment is
safe. We will use a camera bag for the camera when we are moving to
a different location, so it is not out in the open when not being used. If
possible we will have an extra person come along with us to keep an
eye on all equipment when not in use. Risk rating- 3
Location 2- Bridge
Height- When we are filming the bridge scenes cast and crew will be a
fair height above the River Thames. As the actors will be running
across the bridge we will ask them to plan out how fast they will run,
and make sure this is a comfortable and sensible pace for their safety.
We will ask them to be sensible when filming here. In bad weather
conditions, the bridge could be quiet slippy. We will make sure the
actors are wearing suitable shoes that are good at gripping, to prevent
them from slipping over. We will take special care when using the
equipment on the bridge, paying extra attention to make sure it is
stable so it does not fall off. Risk rating- 5
Comfort and wellbeing- We will bring plenty of food and drink for
when we take breaks from the shoot and make sure everyone has
enough energy to continue. The actors will be running a lot throughout
the shoot, so we will make sure to ask them if they need a rest break.
Lateness- We will be on a tight schedule, so cast and crew are
expected to be on time. We will all have phones to contact if anyone is
running late, and if anyone is late we will be flexible in our filming and
film what we can with who is present.
