RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Research Assistant
May 2014 Present
Laboratory for Respiratory and Smooth Muscle Physiology, USC
Work on the experimental setup of an implantable pacemaker, used for the correction of Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).
Alter inbuilt parameters to improve the battery life and reliability.
Analyzed the test results and output with Matlab.
Devised a Business Model for the commercial roll out of the product.
Collaborated in building a very low cost device for the experiment, based on Howland current source.
PUBLICATIONS
Human Aura Signatures was published in Volume 3, Nov 2012 of International Journal of Advanced Research in Computer
Science. The paper discusses the interaction of Schumann Resonance with the Electromagnetic Field of Humans, which can be used
for creating the unique Human signatures, in Biometric Devices.
Realizing Invisibility was published in Volume 3, Jan 2013 of The International Journal of Computing, Intelligent and
Communication Technologies. The paper stated that the Meissner effect of Superconductors can be used, along with, the
Electromagnetic property of the Light to realize invisibility.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Instrumentation Engineering Intern
Summer 2012
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Haridwar, India
Overlooked the process of underground cooling, heat sinking, and the processes needed for manufacturing of rotor and stator bars of
the High voltage Electrical generators. They were the practical implementation of the sensors and transducers, which was
corresponding to the major taken in the undergrads.
Worked on CNC machines, which were being used for various operations on the stator and rotor bars, like- spinning, milling, and
drilling. They were used in the final year project.
Manufacturing Engineering Intern
Summer 2011
Krishna Institute of Engineering and Technology, Ghaziabad, India
Learned and worked on fabrication of Printed Circuits Board (PCB). Learned the various processes involved in manufacturing of a
PCB like itching, soldering, lamination, drilling, etc.
PROJECT EXPERIENCE
510k Submission
The project aimed to prepare a 510k submission for a given device, which is virtually submittable to FDA.
Was responsible for writing the Biocompatibility, Sterilization, Intended and Indication use, etc., parts of the submission.
Reviewed the work of other 5 team members and complied all the 21 sections into one single document.
Automatic Irrigation Prototype
The project aimed at automating irrigation of the fields, that require standing water for the crops to grow.
Designed extremely low cost sensors, to detect the water level on the field.
Integrated those sensors with relays motor units, speakers, microprocessor, etc., in a Printed Circuit Board.
AWARDS
Recipient of MEPC National Science Foundation s (NSF) I-Corps mini Grants for the year 2014-15.
One of the 16 finalists for the competition, the winner for which will be decided in April 2015.
