PURPOSE
This document provides detailed guideline to carry out the software upgrade of hiT7025
Release4.2.2. It includes detailed instructions on how to update the TNMS-CT SW and the Element
SW to the latest System SW versions release (SVR).

OVERVIEW
This document instructs the steps for upgrading the Node software from SVR R4.2.2 to SVR R4.3.1,
including the available roll back options. It also includes the CC smooth upgrade, and fallback is also
included just in case the CC smooth fail to upgrade.

2.1

Service Interruption
Warm reboot NE is mandatory during the upgrade. After the warm reboot finishes, some cards have
to cold reboot based on the following sequence in Table 2.1.1 Lists of cold reboot cards and the
service interruption time refer Table 2.1 2 Service interruption.
If cold reboot whole NE to complete the upgrade is chosen, the traffic interruption will be 5 minutes in
the worst case. The NE will be offline up to 7-8 minutes during NE reboot.
