SENIORS

If you completed the on-line application for Reedley College/Fresno City College; you will be
receiving an email from SCCCD (State Center Community College District) with instructions
that you will need to follow for completing the On-line orientation, DO NOT DELETE! The
on-line orientation is open. PLEASE check your email daily. Email is the #1 form of
communication that colleges use. Any questions or if you need help see Ms. Loving.

LIBRARY

Come join us in the library for our Movie @ Lunch starting today January 28th, 29th & 30th
to watch The Giver.

DRESSCODE
VIOLATIONS

Please be respectful of the Selma High School Rules. All collegiate and professional sport
attire is not allowed to be worn, that also includes Fresno State. The dress code is strictly
enforced and if dress code is violated Saturday school will be given to the student.

REEDELY COLLEGE The application deadline for the Honors Program at Reedley College is: February 1st for the
HONORS PROGRAM early application deadline. March 1ST is the regular deadline.

ACADEMIC
DECATHLETES

Good luck to our Academic Decathletes as they compete in the areas of speech, interview,
and essay this Saturday. These 22 A, B, and C students will be at Fresno State with over
25 county high schools in the first day of competition. The theme this year is Alternatives
in Energy: Ingenuity and Innovation.

SENIOR TRIP
PAYMENT

The next $50 payment for your senior trip is due on January 30. Be sure to keep up with
your payment plan so you dont have to worry about a big balance at the end. All payments
can be made to Gina Gonzalez in the finance office.

SENIORS

Also make sure to read the daily bulletin on line EVERYDAY at
www.selmausd.org/selmahigh . The Daily Bulletin is located in 2 places on the SHS home
page. Stay in the know!

MUSIC SUGGESTION The music suggestion box is back. At this time we need student suggestions of music

that you want to hear at this Fridays $5 Dolla Holla Dance. Remember, suggestions should
be appropriate. Get your suggestions in by TODAY so we can compile a list for the DJ.
The music suggestion box is located outside Room 1005.
SENIORS

If you need your GPA and Class Rank for the local scholarship applications see Ms. Loving;
she has a binder with that information for you. Do not ask anyone in the office to print out
your transcript for that information.

ALL STUDENTS

Warnors Center for performing arts is having their 2015 classic film series and on Thursday,
February 19th at 6:00pm they will be presenting Singing in the Rain. If you are interested in
attending and would like free tickets, Please see Ms. Bonilla.

GOLF

All players involved in boys or girls golf, Please meet in Mr. Esraelian's room 1007 today
January 28th at 12:45 pm.

SCHOOL SERVICE
PROJECT

Dont forget to continue to donate to the Pennies for Patients for Jose Valencia Drive
in your 4th period classes through this Thursday. Thats right; all boxes will be collected on
Thursday in 4th period.
We will also hold raffles during half time at the basketball games this week. You can also
help by bringing in any new or lightly used childrens clothing in youth sizes: newborn, 3T
and youth 5 to the student store. Lets show that Selma Bears truly care about our
community and those in need. Thank you for your support.

DONATION
DANCE

On Friday, January 30 from 9-11pm in the Dining Hall we will host a donation dance where
all money collected at the door will be added to our Pennies for Patients/ Jose Valencia
Drive. The dance will be called the 5 Dolla Holla Dance. The cost is $5 for everyone,
even those with ASB cards. Guest passes for this dance are due TODAY and again, the
cost is $5 for ASB, ID, and approved guests.

CLASS SHIRT
CLEARANCE

Class shirts are now on sale for just $8. Buy yours today in room 1005 and be ready to
represent your class at the upcoming Winter Rally on January 30th.

WINTER RALLY

Get ready to bring your class spirit Friday, January 30th at our Winter Rally in the gym. We
will be highlighting our Winter Sports teams as they get ready to take on CVC that evening.

SENIOR
SWEATSHIRTS

There are a few extra senior sweatshirts for sale in room 1005 for $42. Come by and pick
up yours today while they last. Sizes are limited.

SENIOR SNACK
PACK

The 2nd senior snack pack sale is going on now. Earn money towards your senior trip.
Pick up your box today with Ms. Loving in room 1002.

FAFSA WORKSHOP

Seniors if you and your parent would like help with the FAFSA application process; Please
plan on attending the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) workshop on
Wednesday, February 4th from 6:00pm 8:00pm here at Selma High School. Please
check your Senior Activities handbook regularly for important information. If can access the
student handbook on the SHS website; www.selmausd.org/selmahigh just click on the
Senior Page on the left side of the home page under Quick Links. While you are there it is
a good idea to also read the daily bulletin.

APEX

Attention APEX members, there will be a lunchtime meeting in the MPR tomorrow January,
29th after lunchtime tutorial. We will be signing up for rooms, discussing the next
installment date, and finalizing the trip requirements. The meeting is mandatory, please be
on time.

CSF

Its time to apply for CSF membership. Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores may pick up an
application in room 1501 starting this Thursday, January 28. Your completed application is
due by Friday, February 6. A $5 donation is appreciated to help with the cost of graduation
items relate to Lifetime Member achievement and our community service efforts. Seniors
will be informed if the spring semester is necessary to reach Lifetime.

SENIORS

If you missed the senior meeting last Thursday, Please see Ms. Loving ASAP! For the Local
Scholarship application you will need to know your Total GPA and Class Rank. Ms. Loving
has that information for you, Please DO NOT ask anyone in the office to print put a
transcript for you to get that information. See Ms. Loving in Room 1002. Thank you.

TEACHER OF THE
WEEK

The teacher of the week is Mrs. Niino, students say she is sweet and makes learning fun.
Dont forget to stop by the student office to vote for your favorite teacher!!

FFF

Food Fashion Fun club Meeting at beginning of lunch today in room 705right after
tutorial. Bring ideas for club shirts and our fundraiser is coming up in February.

SATURDAY
SCHOOL

If you are assigned to Saturday School, it is very important to attend. If you miss two
scheduled dates in a row you may get a referral. Please make sure be responsible and
attend your assigned Saturday School.
