OUR MISSION
STATEMENT:

Making Disciples
...Changing
the World

I love you! (John 3:16) I

created you in my image
(Genesis 1:27) and I
called you very
good (Genesis 1:31). I
knit you together in your
mothers womb (Psalm
139:13). I know the
number of the hairs on
your head (Matthew
10:30) and I am familiar
with all your ways (Psalm
139:3). My precious
thoughts of you are as
countless as the sand on
the seashore (Psalm
139:17-18).
But you were born in sin,
separated from my love,
(Psalm 51:5) and though
youve tried to be good
youve missed the mark of
my holiness (1 John
1:8). Youve hurt others
and youve hurt yourself
(Romans 2:9). Most of
all, your sins are against
me (Psalm 51:4). Youve
hurt me (Luke 19:41) and

Rev. April Wegehaupt

angered me (Romans
2:8). I am the Lord
(Exodus 6:2), the King of
Kings (1 Timothy 6:15),
and the Righteous Judge
(1 Peter 4:5) and it is a
terrible thing to come
under my judgment
(Hebrews 10:31).
Now, in the person of
Jesus Christ, I knock on
the door of your heart,
waiting for you to let me
in (Revelation
3:20). Open the door
and I will forgive your
sins (Acts 10:43) and
choose not to remember
them anymore (Isaiah
43:25). I will teach you
how to live your daily
life with me in the
kingdom of the heavens
(Matthew 4:17). I will
adopt you into my family
(Ephesians 1:5) and
lavish on you my fatherly
love (1John 3:1). Then
you will marvel that I

chose you to be my child

(Ephesians 1:11-12) and
I drew you to myself
(John 6:44).
You see Ive loved you
from the beginning, long
before you loved me (1
John 4:19). I sent my
son Jesus, the exact
representation of my
being (Hebrews 1:3), to
die on the cross in your
place (Romans 5:8), to
take upon Himself the
punishment that you
deserved (Isaiah 53:5),
and to take away your
sin (John 1:29). For you
the mighty Lion
sacrificed his life as an
innocent Lamb
(Revelation 5:5-6). So
you can see that in Jesus
I, your Lord and Master,
have come to serve you!
(John 13:13-14)

A P R I L S M U S I N G S
Here is part of a
wonderful poem, Gods
Love Letter to You.
Please read it again and
pause for a moment and
reflect on the Love that
comes from God. This is
the true, un-altered love
that we are called to as the
Body of Christ. If you
are struggling this month

( Continued from Page 1)

feeling loved or cared for

then please listen to the
following words that
come at the end of the
Poem
P.S. If its hard for
you to trust my
words and to receive my
love in your heart then I
urge you to work through
this with one of my

ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20) and to get

involved in a caring
community in the body of
Christ where you can
grow into My love
(Romans 12:5). (Gods
Love Letter to You)
Blessings,
Rev. April

Kids Thoughts
About Love
"Love is foolish ... but I still
might try it sometime."
Floyd, age 9
"Love will find you, even if
you are trying to hide from
it. I been trying to hide from
it since I was five, but the
girls keep finding me."
Dave, age 8

"I'm not rushing into being

in love. I'm finding fourth
grade hard enough."
Regina, age 10
"No one is sure why it happens, but I heard it has
something to do with how
you smell ... That''s why
perfume and deodorant are
so popular."
Mae, age 9
When my grandmother got
arthritis, she couldn't bend
over and paint her toenails
anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the
time, even when his hands
got arthritis too. That's love.

GIVE UP SOMETHING BAD FOR LENT
Will meet
Sundays Thru
Lent @ 4pm
Beginning
February 22nd
A New Lenten Bible Study for Adults
by James W. Moore
During Lent, many Christians give up something they
enjoy as an act of sacrifice and spiritual discipline.
James Moore challenges readers to take it furtherto
give up something spiritually that theyd be better off not
doing.
Contact Rev. April ASAP to sign up
or for more information.

I Love Me
I took myself out

on a date
and said I'm
looking grand,
and when I got
my courage up
I asked to hold
my hand.
I took me to
a restaurant
and then a movie show.
I put my arm around me
in the most
secluded row.
I whispered sweetly
in my ear
of happiness and bliss,
and then I almost
slapped me
when I tried to
steal a kiss.
Then afterwards I
walked me home
and since I'm so polite
I thanked me for
a perfect date
and wished myself
goodnight.
There's just one
little problem
and it kind of hurts
my pride.
Myself would not
invite me in
so now I'm
locked outside!

This years Goal, as voted on at the All-Church Committee mtg., will be to:
How to become a member....
You are welcome to attend worship services, member or not. For
that matter, you can attend any
activity of the church and are
invited to do so. Becoming a
member is, in faith, saying you
want a deeper commitment to the
church. Our vows ask us to faithfully participate in the life of the
church with our prayers, our
presence, our gifts, our service
and our witness.
We hope you will be a part of
the ministry of the First United
Methodist Church. If you would
like to become a member, please
give us: Name(s), address, phone
number, e-mail address, anniversaries, birthdays and if you are
already a member of some other
church or not. If you are, we also
need the name of the church and,
if possible, the address. Please
give this to the pastor, or leave in
the church office.
