OUR MISSION
STATEMENT:
Making Disciples
...Changing
the World
angered me (Romans
2:8). I am the Lord
(Exodus 6:2), the King of
Kings (1 Timothy 6:15),
and the Righteous Judge
(1 Peter 4:5) and it is a
terrible thing to come
under my judgment
(Hebrews 10:31).
Now, in the person of
Jesus Christ, I knock on
the door of your heart,
waiting for you to let me
in (Revelation
3:20). Open the door
and I will forgive your
sins (Acts 10:43) and
choose not to remember
them anymore (Isaiah
43:25). I will teach you
how to live your daily
life with me in the
kingdom of the heavens
(Matthew 4:17). I will
adopt you into my family
(Ephesians 1:5) and
lavish on you my fatherly
love (1John 3:1). Then
you will marvel that I

A P R I L S M U S I N G S
Here is part of a
wonderful poem, Gods
Love Letter to You.
Please read it again and
pause for a moment and
reflect on the Love that
comes from God. This is
the true, un-altered love
that we are called to as the
Body of Christ. If you
are struggling this month

About Love
"Love is foolish ... but I still
might try it sometime."
Floyd, age 9
"Love will find you, even if
you are trying to hide from
it. I been trying to hide from
it since I was five, but the
girls keep finding me."
Dave, age 8

GIVE UP SOMETHING BAD FOR LENT
Will meet
Sundays Thru
Lent @ 4pm
Beginning
February 22nd
A New Lenten Bible Study for Adults
by James W. Moore
During Lent, many Christians give up something they
enjoy as an act of sacrifice and spiritual discipline.
James Moore challenges readers to take it furtherto
give up something spiritually that theyd be better off not
doing.
Contact Rev. April ASAP to sign up
or for more information.
I Love Me
I took myself out
on a date
and said I'm
looking grand,
and when I got
my courage up
I asked to hold
my hand.
I took me to
a restaurant
and then a movie show.
I put my arm around me
in the most
secluded row.
I whispered sweetly
in my ear
of happiness and bliss,
and then I almost
slapped me
when I tried to
steal a kiss.
Then afterwards I
walked me home
and since I'm so polite
I thanked me for
a perfect date
and wished myself
goodnight.
There's just one
little problem
and it kind of hurts
my pride.
Myself would not
invite me in
so now I'm
locked outside!

How to become a member....
You are welcome to attend worship services, member or not. For
that matter, you can attend any
activity of the church and are
invited to do so. Becoming a
member is, in faith, saying you
want a deeper commitment to the
church. Our vows ask us to faithfully participate in the life of the
church with our prayers, our
presence, our gifts, our service
and our witness.
We hope you will be a part of
the ministry of the First United
Methodist Church. If you would
like to become a member, please
give us: Name(s), address, phone
number, e-mail address, anniversaries, birthdays and if you are
already a member of some other
church or not. If you are, we also
need the name of the church and,
if possible, the address. Please
give this to the pastor, or leave in
the church office.
