1 - 4 years of service in school

Teachers, heads of department, heads of curriculum, heads of special

education services

Self-nominators are not eligible but nominees may clarify achievements

Nominator

1 nominator required from teaching colleagues, department heads, students,

parents or parent groups must provide a response to the criteria below
Criteria

Draws on a body of professional knowledge and research to respond to the

needs of students in his/her educational context

Makes learning engaging and valuable, and operates effectively at all stages
of the teaching and learning cycle

Demonstrates commitment to learning, and professionalism in all interactions

with students, colleagues, parents and the community

2. Excellence in Teaching

Eligibility

4 + years of service in school

Teachers, heads of department, heads of curriculum, heads of special

education services may be nominated

Self-nominators are not eligible but nominees may clarify achievements

Nominator

1 nominator required from teaching colleagues, department heads, principals,

students, parents or parent groups must provide a response to the criteria
below
Criteria

Draws on a body of professional knowledge and research to respond to the

needs of students in his/her educational context

Makes learning engaging and valuable, and operates effectively at all stages
of the teaching and learning cycle

Demonstrates commitment to learning, and professionalism in all interactions with

3. Excellent Leadership in Teaching & Learning

Eligibility

Nominees must be registered with the QCT and be employed in teaching

duties in a state or nonstate school in Queensland

Teachers, heads of department, heads of curriculum, heads of special

education services may be nominated

Self-nominators are not eligible but nominees may clarify achievements

QCT Board members and staff are not eligible for nomination
Nominator

1 nominator required from teaching colleagues, department heads, principals,

students, parents or parent groups

Nominators must provide a response to the criteria below

Criteria
Nominators should describe skills, knowledge & abilities of their nominee with the
following criteria:

Leading teaching and learning

Developing self and others

Leading improvement and innovation

4. Outstanding Contribution to Teaching

Eligibility

15 + years of service in school

Teachers, heads of department, heads of curriculum, heads of special

education services may be nominated

A person may be nominated for service as a classroom teacher or in

other teaching or leadership positions in any school sector

Self-nominators are not eligible but nominees may clarify achievements

Nominators

2 nominators must each provide a statement addressing the criteria below

1 nominator must be a registered teacher

1 nominator required from teaching colleagues, department heads, principals,

students, parents or parent groups
Criteria

An outstanding contribution to teaching over an extended period

A proven record of inspiring children to learn
