Realignment Activities
1. Why does this work need to be done at all?

YouCollege offices triage roughly 100-150 students a day that would like help from their success coach regarding:
problems they are having with academics, with processing of paperwork and admission, and other related matters.
Currently, student worker staff are handling this job. Due to the nature of the job, it's complexities, and the high cost of
turnover, it was found to be both economical, as well as better quality support for the students to have a more stable
support person doing this work.
2. Can it be absorbed by or redeployed to other employees in your department?

The only other staff that exists are an Admin Sec 1 (with an overload of projects) and 12 success coaches with full
caseloads. It was determined that all staffs workloads are too great.

3. Can the duties of this position be realigned to such an extent that the position can be eliminated?

No, see answer above.

4. How will this work be done if approval cannot be granted and by whom? Please provide titles and names, if known.

Currently, this work is being completed by 4 student workers: Conner Kelly, Madison Gornek, Anna Neller, and Kinney
Carpenter. The cost of these workers are more than this PT position. While highly trained, it is difficult to ensure quality
and adequate coverage of service with student workers.

5. Has a re-engineering of the functional area been completed? If so, please provide the details of the changes made
and a current organizational chart. Also, please provide prior year's organizational chart.

Department is new.

6. Is there another UT employee (either campus) who is qualified to perform these duties?
