Open the application by going to your web browser, provide the URL given and you
will be redirected to FingerTips 8 web page (refer to Figure 1)

1.0 User Management


By default, upon logging into FingerTips, administrator will be redirected on User
Management page

First of all, we will look at the Import AD Users function

1.1 Import Active Directory Users


Fingertips integrate with any organizations Active Directory. This feature will
eliminate the need to have a separate ID for different application
Active Directory (AD) users may use their AD username and password to sign in to
FingerTips. Administrator must include the server path and user's existing username
and password to create a new user on FingerTips (refer to Figure 3)
With the single sign on function, user's data in the Windows server and FingerTips
server will integrate.

Step 1: Click Import AD Users (refer to Figure 5)
Step 2: Enter all the credentials for AD users including server path and existing AD
username and password.
Step 3: Click Search

Step 4: Select user you want to import and click Import. For example, we import the
user nabeel

Step 5: You will no longer see the imported username and you will get the message
of the user successfully imported.

Step 6: Users you have imported will have the details as above and you can add or
edit the properties and click Update to Save. AD users will need to login FingerTips 8
using their AD username and password.

1.2

Creating a new user

To create a new user in FingerTips, administrator will need to click the Add
User button next to Import AD Users button.
Step 1: Select Add User button from the menu bar (refer to Figure 6)

Step 2: Enter the user name and password desired. (Refer to Figure 7)

Note that User Name, Password, Confirm Password and Email ID are compulsory.

Step 3: Assign the grouping for user.


(i) Adding a group
Adding a group name must be done when adding a user.

Write the new group name, and click Add after you have finish filling in the details.

(ii) Grouping a user


Select any existing group from the list or unassigned by default. (Refer to Figure 10)

Step 4: Assign user type


(iii) Assigning User Type
Administrator has to determine the user type in the process of creating a new user
(Refer Figure 11)

Choose any from Database Admin or Guest. User assignment can be changed later.

Step 5: Enabling/Disabling Report Creation


Enabling or disabling report creation can be determined by administrator. Disabling
report creation will restrict user from creating a dynamic report (Refer to Figure 12)

Step 6: Enabling/disabling Office Assistant
When this option is checked, the Database creates by the OA Admin user can be
view inside the Konica Minolta MFP panel.

1.3 Editing properties of a user


Properties of a user still can be altered according to user's current need by clicking
the green edit user button on user management page (refer to Figure 14)

Users account properties that can be modified including:

1.3 (i) Changing username


Highlight the username, enter new username, when done click Update. (Refer to
Figure 16)

Note that when a username is changed, it will not affect the contents of users
account.

1.3 (ii) Reset user password

By default, when Reset Password button is clicked, selected user password will be
reset to Password (refer to Figure 18)

User password can be changed again by users themselves at User account settings.
1.3 (iii) Change user group
Highlight group name and enter new group name or select any from the existing
group name, and click Update (refer to Figure 19)

1.3 (vi) Enabling/disabling Report Creation and Office Assistant


Check or uncheck the option to enable or disable these functions and click Update
(refer to Figure 22)

1.4 Deleting a user


Deletion of a user can be done by clicking the red delete user button on user
management page (refer to Figure 23)

1.5 Database Ownership

Database Ownership function is used when a database owner would like to change
the ownership of the database to other user (refer to Figure 26)
Step 1: Select a user from list in User Management page
Step 2: Click Database Ownership
Step 3: A new pane showing database name, current owner and new owner will
appear.

Change Skin function allows administrator to change the theme of FingerTips based
on their preference (refer to Figure 30)

3.0 Reporting for Administrator


Administrators are able to produce reports in various fields in FingerTips. Report
function button is located at the top of the system.
Click on Report on Main Admin Interface (refer to Figure 31 & 32)

There are 3 types of report that can be generated for administrators;

Legend:
1) The time and date of when the report is generated will be shown.
2) User can navigate through pages of report with this arrow button
3) Administrator may save the report into their machine by exporting the report. The
report also can be saved in many formats.

3.2 File Reporting
File reporting is used for tracking files activities such as checking-in files into
cabinets (refer to Figure 36)

Step 1: User need to select User Group, User, Database, Date From and Date To.

3.3 Cabinet Reporting
Several reports can be tracked by producing this report including creating, modifying
and deleting databases together with the date and time.

4.0 Purge Records

Purge Records is a function to delete any


audit trail from within a selected timeline.
This function is available only in Admin
module.
Admin may select a Date From and Date
To and admin can delete all records in
between these dates.

Now we will look at the way to purge the records.


Step 1: Click on Purge Records button

and Date To of the audit trail
records you want to delete.

Records button, you can
see the number of files in
between the selected
dates.

5.0 Settings
There are three function settings available in Settings section
1. SMTP Settings

Set email address for administrator account. This email address will be used for
sending out email from FingerTips. Email options can be found in Share File and
Email File option in FingerTips.

2. File Share Default Email

This section is for administrator to add pre-written template which will be used in File
Share option in FingerTips. User will have the option to use the system template or
add in their custom message during file sharing.

displayed here.

3. Advance Cabinet Security via IP

This powerful tool enable administrator to control the access for selected cabinet so
it can only be accessed by the IP address set by the administrator.
Once the Enable IP Cabinet Security checkbox is checked, admin will see another
function button called Allowed IPs on the menu list.

6.0 Shared Files

In Shared Files section,


administrator can view the list of
files shared by all FingerTips user.

Information available for administrator in this section including shared files file path,
type of user selected for file sharing (FingerTips User, Public on the web or Public on
the web with password protection), Template used, whether it is System Message
(Preset template) or Custom Message, Template value, Email ID with Sender and
recipient value.

7.0 Allowed IPs

Here in Allowed IP section administrator


can set the IP address allowed for
selected database. This is the
continuation of Advance Cabinet
Security via IP function. This button will
only available if administrator checked
the Cabinet Security option.

Step 1: Select cabinet to


be set by clicking the
Select Cabinet button.

Note that Cabinets are arranged
according to alphabetical order.

8.0 Logout
To log out from FingerTips system, click the Logout button on the home screen.
