1. QUIZ QUIZ TRADE
The structure

Students stand up, mix and pair up
ii.
Partner A quizzes Partner B
iii.
Partner B answers
iv.
Partner A praises or coaches
v.
Partners switch roles and repeat 2-4
vi.
Partners trade cards.
vii.
Students find a different partner and repeat.
2. GALLERY WALK
The structure
i.
Select materials for display
ii.
Attach to walls or tables. Make sure displays are well spread out to avoid
students crowding
iii.
In groups or individually, students rotate from display to display, completing a
given task.
3. GIVE ONE GET ONE
The structure
i.
Students complete the Give One column of their handout with their own ideas
ii.
The teacher gives a signal and they mingle, meeting up with partners when the
teacher gives a signal.
iii.
They share ONE idea each. Partner A writes down the idea in the Get One
column and the partner checks that , it is written correctly. Partner A thanks
Partner B for the idea.
iv.
They now swap roles. Partner A gives the idea and Partner B writes it down
v.
Teacher gives a signal and they find another partner and repeats the process.
4. CAROUSEL FEEDBACK
The Structure
Teams rotate from project to project leaving feedback for other teams.
i.
Teams stand in front of their projects.
ii.
On a signal, teams rotate to the next project
iii.
For a specified time, teams discuss the other teams project, with no writing.
iv.
Student 1 writes feedback with positive comments and suggestions for
improvement.
v.
Teams rotate and repeat steps 2-3 until back at their own project. A new student
is selected to write for each round.
vi.
Teams review the written feedback they received from the other teams.
5. JOT THOUGHTS
The structure
Teammates cover the table by writing ideas on slips of paper
i.
The facilitator names a topic, sets a time limit and provides think time
ii.
Students write as many ideas as they can in the allotted time, one idea per slip of
paper ( Post-It-Note )
iii.
Each slip of paper is placed on the table. Students attempt to cover the table with
their ideas.
6. ROUND ROBIN
The structure
In teams, students take turns to respond orally.

ii.
iii.
The teacher poses a problem or question to which there are multiple possible
responses or solutions and provides think time.
Students take turns stating responses or solutions.
Students thank one another or give a positive affirmation.
