BenefitsofRecitingtheQuran
Firstly,themerefactthattherecitationofSurahYasinisrecitationoftheQuranmakesapplicableallthe
textsthatrelatetothebenefitsandrewardsoftheQurantotherecitationofSurahYasin.Amongthese
benefitsare:
a.ThesayingofAllahMostHigh,Truly,itisthroughtheremembranceofAllahthatheartsfindrest.

Creator.
b.ThesayingofAllahMostHigh,Heistheonewhorevealeduntohisservantplainandclearversesin

oneisabletogaindivinelygrantedsuccessbyhavingoneselfpulledfromastateofheedlesnesstoastate

a.AnasibnMaliknarratesthattheProphet(Allahblesshimandgranthimpeace)said,Everythinghasa
heartandtheheartoftheQuranisYasin.So,whoeverrecitesYasin,Allahwillinscribeforhimthereward

b.AbuHurayranarratesthattheProphet(Allahblesshimandgranthimpeace)said,Whoeverrecites
Yasinatnight,hewillbeforgiven.[Musnad,AbuYa`ala]Someversionsstate,WhoeverrecitesYasinin
themorningandnight[Tabarani,Mu`ajamalSaghir]
c.IbnYasarnarratesthattheProphet(Allahblesshimandgranthimpeace)said,Reciteitonyourdead.

d.ItisalsonarratedfromsomeofthescholarsthatrecitingYasineasesoneshardships,asmentionedby
IbnKathirinhisTafsir.TherearealsostatementsoftheProphet(Allahblesshimandgranthimpeace)
indicatingso.
ThoughmanyofthenarrationsregardingthemeritsofSurahYasinspecificallyareweak,someofthem
haveabasisandmaybeusedforpromotingvirtuousactions.
ThegeneralmeritsoftheQuranalone,whichincludesSurahYasin,aretremendousandbeyondwhatwe
canimagineandsoweshouldrecitethisnoblechapteroftheQuranknowingfullwellthatweareuttering
thewordsofAllah,thatthesewordsarenourishmentforourheartsandsouls,ameansofguidance,
reward,attainingAllahspleasure,ameansofreflection,happinessandease,andotherbenefitsthatonly
Allahaloneknows.
