What is Identity Authentication?

According to Coursera, Joining a courses Signature Track lets you securely link your coursework
to your identity i.e., it proves that you and only you did all the work! When you join your
courses Signature Track, youll use your Signature Profile to link your identity to each piece of
graded coursework you submit for your course. Also, when you successfully complete the course,
youll earn a Verified Certificate with Distinction. Youll create a Signature Profile by: 1. Recording
your unique typing pattern; 2. Taking a webcam photo of yourself.

Utilising keystroke dynamics and biometric technology as part of the identity authentication
process ensure your coursework will be linked to you and minimizes cheating.
