RESEARCH PROPOSAL

Title of the study:


Title of the study is A Study of Students Career Aspiration,
Goal Clarity and Preparedness.

Significance of study:
Now a days most of the students find many difficulties in their
career aspiration, goal clarity and preparedness due to lake of
general awareness of the study or field. They could not find out
right subject for their career. Students could not find out their
goal clearly. They always live in confusion about their career.
Sometimes they follow family business, family members advice,
peer friends and brother or sister but they have no right decision
according to their abilities. They should take decision according
to their ability. Sometimes they have other problem like they
belongs to rural area, physically challenged, economic problem,
social problem, gender problem, age problem etc.
But there is way to choose right career and clarity of goal for the
students. Career vocational guidance and counseling can help
the students to choose their right career and achieve goal.
Now a days many institutes have a seminar on career vocational
guidance and counseling. The seminar helps the students for the

choosing right career, their right skills, their attitude and their
power.
They also teach them on personality development. It helps the
students how to prepare their subjects and how to get maximum
marks in each subject. Career vocational guidance and
counseling is must for all the students.
Findings can be based on the vocational counseling and
guidance can be done.

Objectives of the study:


-To understand the career aspiration of final year students.
-To understand the socio-economic background of final year
students.
-To understand goal clarity and career preparedness.

Hypothesis of the study:


-The final year students have specific career aspiration.
-There is association between various background and
students career aspiration.
-The students of final year have goal clarity and active career
preparedness.

Research Methodology:

(I) Study Design:


Exploratory Study is to formulate a problem for a more
precise investigation or to develop hypothesis. However an
exploratory study can also be conduct to enhance the
familiarity of researcher with the phenomena he wish to
study some time later in a more scientific way.
(II) Universe of the study:
All MHRM, MSW, BSW final year students from 1 college
in Baroda city.
(III) Sample size of the study:
20% of student from each class of each institution.
(IV) Sampling technique of the study:
The simple random sampling method used for research
study. From the students of one college which 20%
respondents are selected.
(V) Tools for data collection:
Sector wise prepared interview scheduled as a tool for data
collection for research study and scheduled made with open
ended and close ended questions.
