System Description
The overall design for the system is based on a Conventional type fire alarm
system interfaced with Third Party Public Address system for emergency
response.
Fire Alarm shall have connectivity to public address system by using control
Relay Module.
Fire alarm system shall be complete with suitably rated battery backup facilities.
The batteries shall be capable of powering the complete system for a period of
at least 24 hours, or shall be capable to
Support the system operation during a full fire condition for a period of 30
Minutes.
Design Codes and Standards
Standards will include but not limited to the following:
NFPA 72
NBC 2005
Shall comply with applicable National, State, and/or local Building code
recognized at time of
installation. Shall comply with NFPA 101, 70, 72 fire alarm installation standard
recognized at time of installation.
Installation shall comply with requirements of Local Authority Having
Jurisdiction.
Detector and Devices
Conventional Fire Alarm Panel
The control panel(s) shall be a micro-processor based Conventional Fire Alarm
Panel.

The panel shall be equipped with 20% spare capacity with each loop having a
maximum loading of detectors and devices in one loop, with Battery Charger
and Power Supply.
It shall be housed in M.S. Powder coated Cabinet, complete with exclusive
Notification Circuits, Inbuilt
Fire/Fault Relays, Auxiliary Programmable relays on board and shall be furnished
with SMF type Battery in above panel for 24 hours backup in case of power
failure and 30 minutes in Alarm Condition. Main fire alarm panel shall be
installed at Electrical Room.
Conventional Smoke Detector
Analogue Conventional Photoelectric type Smoke Detector, sensitivity range of
0.5% to 2.35% /ft. with Detector base shall be provided in Ceiling Voids, Room
Voids and Floor Voids (where floor void 200mm is available) as applicable.
Smoke detector shall be complete with MS Powder coated Junction Box for
mounting on Surface / on False Ceiling / Below False Floor as per site
requirement. Detector Spacing shall be in line with NFPA 72 / IS 2189
requirements, but shall not exceed 7.5 meters between two detectors center to
center for low airflow applications in smooth ceilings.

Manual Call/Pull Point (MCP)

Manual call point are installed or mounted near to the emergency exit door,
entry and working area etc. for easy access and egress during emergency
conditions. It shall be operated by means of thumb pressure / or pull down lever.
The design for manual call/pull station shall be such that person shall require to
travel not more than 30 meters to activate a call point. Manual call point should
be fixed at 1.2 to 1.5 meters from finished floor level.
Hooter
Ceiling mounted Hooter shall be located near to all exits, and all areas as per
code
Requirements. Hooter Sound Pressure level shall meet the requirements in line
with NFPA-72, 2010 edition, section 18.4.3, 18.4.4, and 18.4.5.
The intensity shall be in line with the NFPA 72 requirement, and the Hooter cum
strobe shall be placed in such a fashion that there shall be no area blind to the
light being emitted by the strobe on an open floor plate.
Control Module:
Conventional Control Modules shall be used for interface with Public Address
system, Access control system, HVAC Trip, Electrical Trip, Fire suppression
system, Hooters and with builder integrations as per a logic which shall be
defined during detailed Engineering.
Monitor Module:

Conventional Monitor Modules shall be provided for Monitoring of Third Party

Systems, such as Panic Bar, Sprinkler flow switch, HSSD system, Fire
suppression system, water leak detection system and with Builder Integrations.
Power Supply
The Conventional Fire Alarm Panel shall operate on 120/240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, and
shall be provided with the necessary UPS power.
Cables& Containment for Fire Alarm System
Fire alarm and detection Cable shall be Armoured type cable in conformance to
BIS Standards as
