Suggested weekly assignments will be posted, but they will not be handed in or marked. Tutorials will
consist of 3 chronological parts: 1) quiz, 2) practice problem(s) done interactively with the class, 3) TA
office hours for one-on-one help. The first tutorial will be held the week of Jan 14. The first quiz will be
held the week of Jan 21. Students may only write the quiz in their assigned tutorial session.

Course Expectations
All material covered in the course (lectures, tutorials, quizzes, assignments, laboratories) is
examinable.
The midterm and final exams will be open text book (Type D). Non-programmable calculators are
allowed for the midterm and final exam (Type 2). They must be non-printing, non-communicating,
silent and self-powered.
If there are any conflicts with the midterm time, a written letter must be submitted to Mr. Hadi
Zandavi by Jan 18 with proof of a legitimate conflict for consideration.
During all lectures, tutorials, and labs: laptops, cell phones, MP3 players and cameras are not
permitted.
Lab Reports are to be handed into the drop-box near of RS208.
Late coursework submissions will be accepted, however 10% penalty per day will be considered.
Academic offenses will be dealt with according to University policies (See Blackboard for Academic
Integrity documentation).

The Lab Manual and marking rubric will be available on Blackboard. You are required to print and
bring your Lab Manual and textbook to each laboratory experiment. You are also required to read
the relevant section of the textbook before arriving to the Laboratory.

You are required to submit a 150-200 word pre-lab abstract at the beginning of each lab session.
This abstract will include a clear objective statement and a description of what you will do in the
lab. If not submitted at the beginning of the lab, you cannot participate in the lab session. This will
be submitted and marked with your report.
Group reports are to be handed in, with an attribution table and accompanying signatures from
each team member.
Laboratory attendance will be taken, and if you are not on-time and present for the entirety of the
lab, you will not receive marks for the lab report. There is no alternative time to participate in
the lab, other than with your assigned group at your assigned time.
