History of the Department
The Department of English, Scott Christian College (Autonomous)
boasts of a glorious tradition beginning from the establishment of the

excelled as creative writes, scholarly critics and highly talented
teachers who have made an impact in the minds of youngsters and
are still remembered for their manifold talents. The UG and PG English
courses were introduced in 1971 and the Department was elevated as
a research centre in 2001. The Department has all the facilities to
fulfill the needs of the new generation learners of English language
