County Precinct 1 Justice
of the Peace, less than two
hours later, at 10 p.m.
Ivey ordered an autopsy
and Waliguras body was sent
to Travis County Medical
Examiners office, in Austin
on Monday.
We have received the
preliminary autopsy report,
Van Slooten said. The findings of the report are consistent with witness statements.
Christopher
Waligura
was taken into custody, but
later released, pending fur-

ther investigation.
Van Slooten has said the
case appears to be an act of
self-defense.
Van Slooten did not disclose what ignited the altercation between the young
man and his father, but
interviews with neighbors
tell police that the deceased
wielded a large knife and a
can of pepper spray before
he was shot; and that he was
pacing in the street and appeared intoxicated.
This case remains under
investigation, Van Slooten
said. No other information
is available at this time.
