DIVORCE AND ADULTERY 2

Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord and given great
occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme... (1Samuel 12:14 - the Amplified Bible).
still in my little thought on the above subject; I tried to reason a little more on the
consequential effect and the response of God on adultery and consequently, divorce.
Many times before considering to take a decisions that might have a far reaching effect
(beyond us and our immediate environment), we all should consider what the effect it is
going to have the people in our sphere of influence; with this I mean people who look up
to us for direction and would be inspired by our success in the future and whose decision
making might be predicated on such as they see in us.
Every man in the place of leadership (influence), no matter how small has that great
responsibility for the lives of such a people in their sphere of influence. Please simply
always think beyond you before you take such decisions, as hard as it may seem (sometime
this is very very very very and in fact, very hard trust me).
From the decision David, the 2nd King in Israel in the bible (referenced above) was a one of
short pleasure and just catching his fun (just as some call it), but in the sight of God, the
effect was more. God wanted David to be an example of such a life that life that he always
desired for men to live especially leaders; INTEGRITY! But one event that was so painful
happened in the least time he was expecting.
David slept with his officers wife and got her pregnant, indirectly killed the officer and
married the woman.
Gods response was not just based on the sin that David committed, but the far-reaching
effect of it. Now, other generals might find this as an excuse to execute other officers and
take their wives, because the person who supposed to hold the balance of justice is now
found culpable. Finally, Israel as a nation was supposed to be a holy (in all sense of
righteousness), but now had become a laughing stock of the nations who had been
looking for a reason mock the God of Israel; finally they got what they were looking for!
How does this reflect on above subject?
Think about the far-reaching effect of your action before you take them; adultery is an
event that only last for a short moment. Apart from you, such act also creates a pattern in
your lineage that become a battle that your generations would have to fight, and the
effect on them is surely going to be exponential (David did his own in his bedroom, his son
did his own on the rooftop in broad daylight and in front of the whole city).
And to the offended partner; it is obvious that forgiveness is really

The bottom-line is in marriage every couple must adopt Gods strategy of banking
forgiveness.
