Manypeopleseemtohaveahardtimeunderstandinghowtohavearelationshipwiththe
Lord.Isjustgettingsavedenough?Oftentimes,peoplegetsavedintheheatofthemoment
likeafteraveryinspiringsermonoranemotionaltalkwithafamilymemberorfriendandafter
theglowoffeelingsaved,loved,andcherishedbyGodisverymuchliketheglowofattraction
inloveaffairsandrelationships.Aftertheglowwearsofftherelationshipdullsandyougoright
backtothewayyouwere.IsthiswhatGodexpectsofus?WillwestillbeallowedtoenterHis
pearlygatesormorelikelywillHesay,"Ineverknewyou".
DevelopingarelationshipwithGod
GodwantsustoloveHimandtodoHiswillnotours.Amajorpartofdevelopingarelationship
withtheLordisobedience.ItisimportanttodowhatGodexpectsofyouifyouplanongoing
toheaven.
Noteveryonethatsaithuntome,Lord,Lord,shallenterintothekingdomofheaven
buthethatdoeththewillofmyFatherwhichisinheavenMatt.7:21
DoesGodknowyou?
Intheendtimes,uponHisreturnmanywillcometoGodtellingHimtheyhavedoneHiswill
becausetheyperformedmiraclesbyusingHisnameandprophesiedinHisname.Inorderfor
youtohavearelationshipwithGodittakesmorethanjustworks,youmustpraydaily,listen
forGod'svoice,studytoshowyourselfapproved,dohiswill,followhiscommandments,and
tellother'sabouthimandifyoudonotdothesethingsitjustmaybethatGoddoesnotknow
youandifGoddoesnotknowyouhewillnotrecognizeyouwhenHereturnstojudgethe
world,soitstandstoreasonthatdevelopingarelationshipwiththeLordisextremely
important.

HowtostartaRelationshipwithGod
AfteryouaresavedyouwillneedtostartbuildingyourrelationshipwithGodrightawayand
maintainthatrelationshiponadailybasis.IfyouhavefallenawayfromtheLordorfeellike
Heisfarfromyouornothearingyourprayer'sthenitisveryimportantthatyoureevaluate
yourrelationshipwithHim.InordertohaveasolidrelationshipwithGod,oneoflove,

simplyaguidelineandexamplesthatweneedtofollow.Inordertostartorrenewyour
relationshipwiththeLordyouwillneedtocommunicatewithHimeverysingleday,readGod's
word,study,believe,love,andshareHiswordwithother.
FollowingChrist'sExample
TheexampleofChrist,wearetobeChristlike.JesusprayedtoGod,HedideverythingGod
askedofHim,HespentHiswholelifeteachingGod'sword.EvenindeathJesusdidGod's
will.Nowthatisatallorder,Goddoesnotexpectustobeperfectbutmypointisifyouarenot
prayingtohim,listeningforHim,studyingHiswordtofindoutmoreaboutHim,keepHimas
theNumber1focusinyourlife,tellingothersaboutHim,thenyoustilldonothavea
relationshipwithHim.Arelationshipisbasedongettingtoknowsomeone,communicating
withthem,listeningwhentheyspeak,doingthingsforthembecauseyouknowtheylikeit.
Youcanreadyourbibleeveryday,asyoushould,butthatdoesnotguaranteeyouaplacein
heaven.YouhavetocommunicatewithHimtalkwithHimonadailybasis.Praywithout
ceasing..waitforHisanswers.Yes,Hewillanswerbutyoumusthavefaithandbelievein
Him,gettoknowHimtodayjustgetonyourkneesandpray...HewillletyouknowwhatHe
wantsifyoujustlisten.WhenyouletHiminsideyourthoughts,yourheart,yourmind,and
yourbodyyouwillfeelHisawesomepresenceandyesyouwillhearHisvoice!Hesaid:
