Reflections help students to assess their


performance. Their reflections, whether oral or
written, can help them set personal goals for
improving their language abilities. Reflections also
encourage critical thought. Student who have
opportunities to reflect upon their experiences,
grow in their abilities to use language effectively.
When student reflect upon their performance, they
begin to recognize what they have done well and
where they require improvement.

For this task, you are required to write a reflection


of about 300 words on learning you had undergone
(based on the module and tutorial sessions)

REFLECTIONS

Kursus Perguruan Lepasan Ijazah (KPLI) for Primary Schools Bahasa


Inggeris Komunikasi, mode LPBS is a module offered by The Teacher
Education Division. This module including the nature of English Language
System and experience the skills of listening, reading and writing.
There are a lot of advantages and benefits from this learning session
through the modules and tutorials. I got many experiences during the
lessons and tutorials that can help me to improve my language. The
activities arranged were suitable and useful to us. The activities are:

a) The ice breaking


Ice breaking activity is very interesting and useful. During this
session, we were able to introduce ourselves to the classmates
using English. Although we were known each other, but introducing
ourselves in English make it different and interesting.
b) Grammar exercises

Grammar is quite difficult to such people but through the tutorials, it


becomes easy and wonderful. It was because the notes and
modules given were
cleared and simple and also included exercises. In addition,
grammar exercises improved the students skills in their grammar.
This part helped us to recall what we had learnt before in formal
education.
c) Public Speaking
Each student had to choose a topic, prepare and present it to the
class. This activity encouraged us as the students to speak to the
public. It was a practical for us to face the society. In addition, public
speaking made us built up our self esteem and throw out our
embarrassment to speak in English. This activity motivated the
students to speak confidently and effectively. So, the students could
improve their language indirectly.
Besides that, through the public speech, I can learn and improve
my eyes contact, posture, gestures and voice. By doing so, I will be
able to use English in my daily conversation correctly in different
situations and become more confident to use it.
d) Reflections
Each student had to write down about the reflections of learning
English in tutorials using the modules given. This part needed a
student to write about the opinions and suggestion during the

lessons. After ice breaking, public speaking and grammar exercises,


I got many experiences and benefits from

the activities. It also can remind me about what I had learnt and
refreshed my memory on it. Besides that, I obtained new ideas and
knowledge from learning process.

As a conclusion, from my opinion, the module and tutorial session are


very useful and advantage to becoming teacher like us to prepare ourselves
in the future. Although we are not major in English, but through the module
and tutorial sessions we get new thoughts and ideas to apply in real
environment.
