Nature and Extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs/ improvements:
Students Management Club constituting students as office bearers and members are
involved in academic activities of the Institution through management of events, attending
meetings that decide the Internal Assessment process, as members of Placement Cell, as
members of extra mural lecture cell (This cell invites Senior Executives from industry and
well known academician for interaction/ presentation, and as class representatives to
facilitate participation by the class members in co- curricular and extra curricular
activities).
The administrative responsibilities of the Institute are divided among the faculty members.
The faculty members carry out these activities as coordinators, members and
coordinators of committees. The Institute follows Team Management principles through
fully empowered teams. The list of activities assigned to the faculty members and the

XI.LIST OF APPLICANTS

for each of the qualifying examination in separate categories for open seats. List of candidates
who have applied along with percentage and percentile score for Management quota seats: As
the state Govt. controls the admission process for all the candidates other than
management quota and the scores are not communicated to the Institute the same can not

be carried out at the Institute level. The Institute has not admitted candidates against
management quota till date. However, the details as desired will be notified if the Institute
carries out admissions against management quota in future.

Details of Work

1. November 2003 till date Director, Prestige Institute of Management, Gwalior: Have
been taking care of the Institute with full administrative and financial autonomy since last
five and half years. Prestige Education Society, Indore, has established the Institute. The
director is responsible to develop and run the Institute according to his own vision and
acumen. Some of the Achievements in last four years are:
Improvement in Institute Ranking: The Institute has taken giant strides under the
leadership and has been included in top 1000 B-Schools of the world for the year
2007-08. The Global B- School list has included only 35 B-Schools from India
including six IIMs. The Institute has been ranked at 47th place in the country by MINT
C FORE Survey for the year 2008-09. The results of the survey are available on the
official web site of MINT C FORE. The Institute has been rated as A+ Category
Institute by Business India in its October 13, 2008 issue. Indian Management
(Magazine of AIMA) has placed the Institute in category B ++. In its September 2008
issue.
Conferences and Work Shops Organized: The Institute has organized four National
Conferences and six Case Writing Work Shops in my guidance during the last four
years. The Institute has also organized a number of Seminars during the same period.
Organized two Research Methodology workshops for the faculty members of the
Institute during 2004-05 and 2006-07
Publications by the Faculty Members: The faculty members of the Institute have
published 67 research papers in the year 2007-08. None of the faculty members had
ever published a research paper before joining the Institute.
Admissions: The Institute has been able to increase the students strength from 270 to
1250 in last four years without introducing any new programs.
Permanent Affiliation: The Institute has applied for permanent affiliation for its
MBA, BBA and BCA programs with Jiwaji University, Gwalior and is working on
obtaining NBA accreditation.
Development of Management Systems: The Institution has been moved from person
based management to system run management. The established systems ensure least
variability in admission process, development process, evaluation process and process

3. July 27, 1979 to September 15, 1994 Indian Navy as Electronics and
Telecommunication Engineer (Specialized in RADAR, SONAR and Missile
Systems)
Human Resource Management: Worked as head electronics and electrical
departments in various ships and establishments for fifteen years of service in Indian
Navy looking after all facets of human resource management like, identifying training
needs, organizing in-house training, aligning training needs to carrier progression and
looking after day to day administrative affairs of forty engineers and technicians.
Technical responsibilities: Was responsible for installation, setting to work,
acceptance trials, repairs and maintenance of RADARS and SONARS of British,
Dutch, Italian and French Origins. Have fifteen years hands on experience on testing
tuning, maintenance, repairs and preparation of Missiles of Russian and British origin.
Headed the technical team, which was responsible to establish testing and repair
facilities for one of the most sophisticated short-range surface-to-surface missiles in
the world, was also instrumental in indigenization of imported spares for the missile
systems. In addition managed inventory for the Indian Naval Ship, Tunir for seven
years and was instrumental in computerizing and reducing the inventory to less
than 50% of the level at the time of assuming the charge.
