EAMCET Tips In Chemistry - 2014

Succeeding tips for EAMCET:

co
m

* Remember that chemistry is the part in any competitive exam where you
spend the least time and can score maximum marks if you prepare
systematically.

ed
uc
at
io
n.

*EAMCET Chemistry has lots of concept based questions and it is a must

to by heart them. The good thing about memory based questions is that you
dont spend a lot of time in solving them.
* Any way out of 40 questions nearly 24-28 questions i.e. nearly 60-70%
will be easy (direct theory questions from IPE text book). Nearly 12-10
questions i.e. nearly 30-25 % will be moderate (Equations based &
numerical related) and nearly 4-2 questions i.e. nearly 10-5 % will be
difficult (inter conceptual).

*Students can take help of their teachers for Selection &Collection of

proper study material for marks oriented preparation. Prepare only from the
syllabus given in the brochure.

.s
a

*While going through every topic list out the important formulae and
conceptual points so that easy to revise repeatedly

w
w

*Practice more number of topic wise assignments and check your

performance through consolidated tests. This will give exposure to various
concepts and also helps Students in planning the time management in final
examination.
*Go through previous EAMCET question papers (at least previous 4 years)
to know the- pattern and standard of questions. if possible collect the grand
test papers conducted by various corporates and practice all sincerely. Try
to overcome the week points in the weaker areas.

www.sakshieducation.com

*Allocate a specific time to every section and try to complete the section
within that time frame. Be confident and do well in the examination.
*Go through the Telugu Academy IPE & EAMCET BOOKS.

co
m

* There is no weightage rule for the chapters in the topics. So there are
maximum possibilities to ask many questions from same chapter. So the
students should cover all the chapters.

ed
uc
at
io
n.

* Cover all the chapters properly. Start from the easy sums. Gradually
increase the level of difficulty of sums. Try to solve the problem by
understanding the concept behind it.

*Do not leave any topic .Even in the difficult topic you feel, try to learn
fundamentals, definitions, concepts & formulae.
* Don't waste time on unimportant questions i.e the topics which are not in
syllabus.

ks

hi

*Students have to remember that both 11 class syllabus and 12 class

syllabus are equally important because most of the topics in chemistry are
inter related.

For example, trends in properties like acidic or basic nature, reducing and
oxidizing nature, stability of hydrides, oxides, halides in IA to VIIA group
elements are related to Periodic table.

w
w

Equivalent weights concept is useful in stoichiometry, Normality problems

in solutions, Electrochemistry, PH problems in Acids-Bases etc.

WAY OF PREPERATION
Give academy text a novel reading for at least two/three times for all the
chapters.
I. Atomic Structure: in this chapter focus on

io
n.

co
m

Hydrogen spectrum , Bohr model.de Broglie relation, Uncertainty

principle; Quantum numbers, atomic orbitals and their shapes (s, p, and d),
Pauli exclusion principle; Aufbau principle and the electronic configuration
of atoms, Hunds rule.
II States of Matter: In this chapter take more practice

a. On graphs related to Boyles law ,Charless law, Molecular velocity

distributions etc.
b. Problems related to Ideal gas equation, Grahams law, Daltons law,
Molecular velocities, Van der waals equation etc.

ks

c. Units of surface tension, viscosity and their applications, influence of

temperature on vapour pressure, surface tension, viscosity of liquids etc.

.s

III. If you remember the Periodic table completely. There are many
questions which can be answered just by knowing the periodic table
especially in Inorganic Chemistry.

w
w

IV. Chemical Bonding & Molecular Structure; in this chapter give priority
for hybridization &geometry of molecules, Molecular orbital theory, Bond
order, Magnetic properties for homo nuclear diatomic species,
Polarity- Dipole moments, Hydrogen Bond
V. Stoichiometry: Practice the formulae and problems related to empirical
and molecular formula, calculating oxidation states, balancing Red-Ox
equations etc

XV. Solutions, Electro chemistry, Acids-bases, chemical equilibrium

and kinetics: in these practice equally conceptual and problematic parts.
Trying to solve the same problem in different methods will be useful
at the time of Preparation but remember the simplest method.

Remember the more the time you spend in preparing for Chemistry the
better your final score. Chemistry is the place where you can save time in
the exam which can be used effectively in Physics.
