and running. All participants are getting
great lessons from Gavin and Rachael and
picking up great tips. The lessons will be
continuing so keep an eye on your emails
and the website.
A Youth update is available on the
website under the members section. For
those of you on Facebook a page has
been set up with updates. Our midterm competition is starting on the 20th
of February and tee times are available on
the time sheet.
A very successful Try Golf session was
held on Saturday 14th February with 13
girls attending.

From the Pro Shop at

Naas
Don't forget we have
our 30% shoe sale for the
month of February as well as
our complimentary driver
assessment.
An assessment only takes 30
minutes and could be
invaluable to your driving. If
you would like to hit the ball
further, you need to
understand how to create
more "ball" speed not
necessarily "clubhead"
speed...so let me show you
how! If you would like to book
a complimentary driver
assessment please contact the
pro shop.
Many of our shoes sold over
the past weekend but there are
still plenty of sizes and models
to choose from in both the
ladies and gents range and all
shoes in stock are 30% off for
the month of February.

Course update from John Grogan (Course Chairman) and

David Behan (Course Manager)
Its amazing how quickly the winter has past bye as we start to see
the evenings stretch and we get the odd spring day.
Over the winter months our main work programs;
Course daily preparation & maintenance
Remedial drainage work on the bunkers
Tidy woodland right of the 11th hole
Water ponding on greens 4 & 6
Cutting dead trees
Pruning of shrub-beds
Septic tank meetings and possible solutions
Work planner for the coming golf season to include fairway
topdressing in April & September, main greens aeration
program will be carried out the 1st week in March and 2nd
week in October
The introduction of the frost course has worked well
Spiking fairways
Machinery services and repairs
The drainage work that we did over the previous two winters is
working well but we need to keep focused on future drainage
programs and plans.
So why are the Greens at Naas so good?
David Behan says A dedicated team and a course committee that works
for you. Networking with fellow Sportsturf Professionals. Always willing to
learn about and implement new methods and as a golfer myself, I have a
good idea what the golfer wants.
