Executive Summary
Gravis Marketing, a nonpartisan research firm, conducted a random survey of 880 registered voters in
Vermont regarding vaccinations. The poll has a margin of error of 3%. The total may not round to
100% because of rounding.

Do you believe that parents should be able to opt out of vaccinating their children for
school for philosophical reasons, also known as personal belief exemptions?

Have you seen or heard news about the recent outbreak of measles in the United States?

Are you concerned that the national measles outbreak could spread to Vermont, given
Vermonts low vaccination rate?

Are you aware that people with compromised immune systems, such as those on
chemotherapies, may be at a higher risk for disease for a lack of a vaccinated population?

Now that you are aware that people with cancer and other medical disorders are at risk,
are you more concerned about a persons decision to vaccinate?

Are you aware that families are permitted to opt out of vaccinating their children for
childcare and school by signing a personal belief exemption?

Should children whose parents have opted not to vaccinate be allowed to attend public
schools and licensed daycares, potentially putting other children at risk?

Recently, Governor Peter Shumlin said Vermonts personal belief exemption policy should
be left alone. Do you agree with Governor Peter Shumlin that no further work is needed
to protect VT children against vaccine-preventable diseases?

Would you support a bill in Vermont that would allow vaccination exemptions for medical
reasons only, such as an allergy to the vaccine, and keep the same vaccination requirements
as most other states?
