1.

We fix our eyes not on what is seen,

but on what is unseen. For what is
seen is temporary, but what is
unseen is eternal.

2. Where is the wise? Where is the

scribe? Where is the disputer of this
world? Hath not God made foolish
the wisdom of this world? For after
that in the wisdom of God the world
by wisdom knew not God, it pleased
God by the foolishness of preaching
to save them that believe. Because
the foolishness of God is wiser than
men; and the weakness of God is
stronger than men. For ye see your

calling, brethren, how that not many

wise men after the flesh, not many
mighty, not many noble, are called:
But God hath chosen the foolish
things of the world to confound the
wise; and God hath chosen the weak
things of the world to confound the
things which are mighty. And base
things of the world, and things
which

are

despised,

hath

God

chosen, yea, and things which are

not, to bring to naught things that
are: That no flesh should glory in his
presence. That, according as it is
written, He that glorieth, let him
glory in the Lord.

3. And I, brethren, when I came to you,

came not with excellency of speech
or of wisdom, declaring unto you
the

testimony

of

God.

For

determined not to know anything

among you, save Jesus Christ, and
him crucified. And I was with you
in weakness, and in fear, and in
much trembling. And my speech
and my preaching was not with
enticing words of man's wisdom,
but in demonstration of the Spirit
and of power: That your faith
should not stand in the wisdom of
men, but in the power of God.

4. Ask and it will be given to you; seek

and you will find; knock and the
door will be opened to you. For
everyone who asks, receives; the one
who seeks, find; and to the one who
knocks, the door will be opened.

5. Do not judge, or you too will be

judged. For in the same way you
judge others, you will be judged,
and with the measure you use, it
will be measured to you.

6. Carry each other's burdens, and in

this way you will fulfill the law of
Christ.

7. Accept one another just as Christ

also accepted us to the glory of God.

8. Do not be overcome by evil, but

overcome evil with good.

9. Knowledge puffs up while love

builds up.

10.

Love

does

no

harm

to

neighbor. Therefore love is the

fulfillment of the law.

11.

God is love.

12.

Love is patient, love is kind. It

does not envy, it does not boast, it is

not proud. It does not dishonor
others, it is not self-seeking, it is not
easily angered, it keeps no record of
wrongs. Love does not delight in
evil but rejoices with the truth. It
always

protects,

always

trusts,

always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are
prophecies, they will cease; where
there are tongues, they will be
stilled; where there is knowledge, it
will pass away. For we know in part
and we prophesy in part, but when
the perfect comes, the imperfect
disappears. And now these three

remain: faith, hope and love. But the

greatest of these is love.

13.
act

We will be ready to punish every

of

disobedience,

once

your

obedience is complete.

14.

For to me, to live is Christ, and

to die is gain.

15.

In your relationships with one

another, have the same mindset as

Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God

Did not consider equality with God

something to be used to his own
advantage;
Rather, he made himself nothing
By taking the very nature of a servant,
Being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a
man,
He humbled himself
By becoming obedient to death
Even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the
highest place
And gave him the name that is above
every name,

That at the name of Jesus every knee

should bow,
In heaven and on earth and under the
earth,
And every tongue acknowledge that
Jesus Christ is Lord,
To the glory of God the Father.

16. Do not conform any longer to the

pattern

of

this

world,

but

be

transformed by the renewing of your

mind. Then you will be able to test and
approve what God's will is--his good,
pleasing and perfect will.

17. If it is possible, as far as it depends

on you, live at peace with everyone.
18. Let no debt remain outstanding,
except the continuing debt to love one
another, for he who loves his fellowman
has fulfilled the law.
19. Let us therefore make every effort to
do what leads to peace and to mutual
edification.
20. Do not let the sun go down while
you are still angry.

21. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and

anger, brawling and slander, along with
every form of malice.
22. Be kind and compassionate to one
another, forgiving each other, just as in
Christ God forgave you.
23. Know

this

Love

that

surpasses

knowledge.
24. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or
vain conceit, but in humility consider
others better than yourselves.
