THURMAN MAPLE DAYS, a March event which annually draws
thousands of visitors to maple farms just minutes from Lake George
and Northway exit 23, has a new idea bubbling away. The organizing
committee is working with restaurants, diners, cafes, bistros and B&Bs
throughout Warren County to launch a partner event, dubbed Sweet
Maple Menu Days. This year, while Thurman maple producers and
neighboring farms open their doors for free tours, talks, tasting and
demonstrations, their partners in the dining trade will feature on their
menus special dishes made with pure Thurman maple products in this
new promotional campaign. Eatery and B&B owners interested in
signing up for Menu Days should contact Perky Granger as soon as
possible for more details, for Thurman maple producer contact information and to register ( PersisGranger@aol.com or (352) 949-1706.
Participants are listed with their Thurman maple specialties at
www.SweetMapleMenuDays.com and will become eligible to participate in discounted group newspaper ads. Thurman maple producers offer wholesale prices and can even supply links to outstanding
recipes for such maple treats as meat marinades, condiments and
vegetable glazes, salad dressings, frostings, scones, cheesecakes,
casseroles and more. As many producers like to remind their
customers,Maple syrup isnt just for pancakes anymore.? Thurman
Maple Days runs Saturdays and Sundays from March 14 - March 29,
10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sweet Maple Menu Days extend from March 15- 29.
These events are made possible, in part, with funds from Warren
County occupancy taxes made available by the Town of Thurman
and Thurman Station Association.

OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MURDER- The Schuylerville Community Theater is celebrating its
35th year with the first show of its 2014/2015 Season. The show Out of SightOut of Murder is
sure to delight and was written by Fred Carmichael (by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc).
With a dynamic cast of 9, this show tells the story of Peter Knight an author grinding out a murder
story in an old mansion where another author was murdered years before. A weird electrical storm
affects a cosmic snafu and the characters from his mind come to life before him and the audience.
With their new found freedom, Peter loses control of his characters to become the intended target of
murder. Each character is stuck in their character traits bringing hilarity and wit to an already
unusual circumstance. This ensemble has been having way too much fun rehearsing together and it is
sure to be contagious to our audiences. The show is directed by Bonnie Thomas, veteran SCT board
member and director. Performances run on February 21st (at 8 PM) on Sundays February 22rd
(at 2pm). All performances will be at the Saratoga Town Office Building on the corner of routes 29
and 4 in Schuylerville, NY. The tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for seniors and students but visitors
will find a $2 discount opportunity on the SCT website (www.scttheater.org), SCT FB page and show
mailing. For information and reservations, call 695-5480.
