NB1: Business, Retirement, ED, Dependent and Custodial Visas may only
have a 7-day extension. Applicant must then go abroad again and
restart the whole process.
NB2: 1 year B visa issued only in country of birth. Only 3 months issued
in Malaysia etc., then may be renewed for 1 year in Phuket.
NB3: Long term visas issued only if there is no overstay on present (TR
etc.) Visa
NB4: Only ED and B visas are annotated as such. All others have O
designation
1 Year Multi-Entry (i.e., Leave every 3 months)
Requirements (According to the UK Thai Embassy):
1. Married to a Thai Copy of marriage certificate, wifes ID /Passport
in English
2. With Thai dependents copy of birth certificate with applicants
name on it
3. Over 50 and receiving a pension copy of pension statement or
copy of bank statements showing pension being paid in
4. Over 50 but no pension. Proof of income of 900/month or 10,000
in bank
5. Under 50 but own property in Thailand copy of proof of income
and title deeds of property with name on it and company
documents if applicable.

Visa Notes - General


1. Visas valid for 1 year (e.g. Business, Retirement Visa) 90-day
notification required
2. O and B Visa issued outside Thailand have to leave every 3
months
3. If a Thai child or wife is involved, 60-day extension is possible on ANY
visa
4. O-A Visa (retirement issued outside Thailand: most embassies require
a medical certificate and police record report
5. O-A may be extended to 2 years by re-entering the day before 1st year
is finished, but thereafter a re-entry permit is required.
6. O-A visa cannot be used in conjunction with a dependents visa.
SIN, PEN and K-L ration their TR visas. Double entry possible in
Cambodia and Laos

Retirement Visa

NB2: Dependent of retiree cannot convert Tourist to O Visa. Has to go

NB3: Can be renewed up to 30 days before expiry date
NB4: Holland, Australia, USA embassies only confirm signature on letter
confirming income. Proof must also be provided to Immigration
NB5: Combination of money in the bank and Income is acceptable
NB6: Report every 90 days from initial O Visa or date of last entry into
Thailand if later
NB4: O-A Visa no good to get dependents visa.

NB1: Must go to Thai Embassy abroad to get 1st Education Visa for child,
O visa for custodian. Take letter from school. Valid 90 days.

to school in Thailand it is usually a complete year

Business Visa
1. 1st B visa must be issued outside Thailand or in BKK. Letter from
intended employer required.
2. May be reapplied for at Immigration but full set of company
documents, tax returns etc., require
3. B Visa issued outside TH need to go out every 90 days.

4. Forms required to be provided by employer if applying inside Thailand
are in a
drawer at PIV station or back of office
5. If the holder of a work permit changes jobs, the work permit can be
changed at the labour office on the same day, i.e., hand in old, walk out
with new.
6. If the new work permit is then brought to Immigration on the same
day, and a Change of employer form completed with the usual
standard photocopies, the visa can be renewed with the new details.
7. 1 year B visa issued only in country of birth. Only 3 months issued in
Malaysia etc., then renewed for 1 year in Phuket.
8. B Visa issued in Thailand has to be cancelled on the day a work permit
is surrendered. B Visa obtained abroad does not need to be cancelled
when work permit is surrendered.

Having bought or rented a condo for no less than 3 years,
issued by a relevant agency or government, at a purchase price
or rent of no less than B10 million
3. Having invested in a fixed deposit, no less than B10 million in a
bank registered in Thailand with Thai nationals holding more than
50% of its shares
4. Proof of investing in government state enterprise bonds for B10
million or more
5. Combination of 1 4 acceptable.

90 day Reporting
TM47
First ever 90 day report and 1st report of the new calendar year: Standard
Photocopies.
Can be 14 days early or 7 days late
Runs entirely independently from the visa
90 days restart every time there is a new entry into Thailand.
APEC Card
This gives 3 months a time in Thailand but cannot be used to get any
other visa
