Special Projects
Boys and Girls Club of Central Iowa
Music Program
Wrote and implemented a music program for general music, grades two through five. The program
incorporates material that the students were exposed to in school and builds off their classroom music
experiences in a fun and engaging way.
Record Keeping
During the fall of 2013 I created several documents which are now used by all sites of the Boys and
Girls Clubs of Central Iowa. These include a how-to on the organizations attendance program, a multimonth excel document for recording the number of Backpack Buddies given to each family each week,
and a document which is used or organize the sites summer registration process including child and
parent information and payment status.
Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia
Recitals
Organized and conducted a recital at least twice annually. I chose repertoire and rehearsed it with the
members, created programs, and led the male choir in performances.
Planned annual trips to retirement communities to play and sing for residents. These short recitals
included singing and playing by the members which included an all-male choir which I conducted.
Cello Recitals
Prepared two solo recitals during my time at Drake, neither of which was required for the music
education degree. The first was a joint recital during the spring of 2014, the second was a solo recital in
the fall of 2014. For both of these recitals I spent many hours practicing, showing both my dedication
and proficiency on my main instrument.
