RECOMMENDATION: In ROP Figure A.8.6.1.2(6)(a) Typical arrangement
of Deluge Protection for Standard Veneer Dryer modify as follows:
1) Modify OS&Y valve to sprinkler control valve
2) In the first note, change 3/4 across the dryer to 3/4 of the dryer width.
SUBSTANTIATION: Editorial restructuring for clarity. The OS&Y valve
(outside screw and yoke) is a specific type of valve and the new term is more
inclusive for other acceptable valves.

664-39-(A-10-8.1 (New) ) : Accept
SUBMITTER: Technical Committee on Wood and Cellulosic Materials
Processing,
COMMENT ON PROPOSAL NO:664-27
RECOMMENDATION: Add annex material for Section 10.8.1 as follows:
A.10.8.1 The size and extent of the incident that triggers this requirement
should be proportional to the hazard. For example, a spark in a protected duct
with a spark detection system would likely not require an investigation unless
a significant increase in sparks per unit time was noted or the spark fails to be
extinguished. This incident is considered recorded with the spark detection
system. For every hazard area, there is a minimum level below which
recording cannot be justified. It is up to the owner/operator to determine that
level.
SUBSTANTIATION: The addition of the annex material was to clarify that
it was not the intent of the Committee to take this requirement to ridiculous
extremes.
