Activity 1 Name the Hobbies


1. Get students to look at the pictures.
2. Ask students the following question:
What are the hobbies in the pictures?
Activity 2 Listen and Say Aloud
1. Play the Audio-Video DVD to allow students to listen and practise saying aloud
the hobbies.
2. Pause after each word to allow all students to internalise the targeted
vocabulary.
3. Ensure that all students participate actively. Replay if necessary.
Activity 3 Carrying Out the Hobbies (B2DL1E1)
1. Get students to look at the pictures again.
2. Ask students this question: Where do you carry out these activities?
3. Get students to work in pairs.
4. One student invites another student to join him/her in carrying out their
favourite hobby.
5. Guide students to ask and answer the following questions:
Would you like to join me for a picnic this Saturday? OR
Would you like to play badminton with me this evening at five?
Suggested answers:
Would you like to join me for a picnic this Saturday?
Yes, I would like to join you for a picnic.
No, I'm sorry. I can't make it.
OR
Would you like to play badminton with me this evening at five?
