2 colors of worsted weight cotton
H hook
Square (create 1) with color A
Ch 53 loosely
Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc next 2 ch, * 2 sc in next ch, sc in next 12 chs *
(repeat 3 times), 2 sc in next ch, sc in next 9 chs TURN (56 sc)
Row 2 Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), skipping the first st, dc in next 8
sts, *2 dc in each of the next 2 sts, dc in next 12 sts* repeat 3 times, 2 dc in each
of the next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts TURN (64 dc)
Row 3 Ch 3, skipping the first st, dc in next 3 sts, *2 dc in each of the next 2 sts, dc
in next 14 sts* repeat 3 times, 2 dc in each of the next 2 sts, dc in next 10 sts TURN
Row 4 Ch 1, sc in first dc and next 9 sts, * 2 sc in next 4 sts, sc in next 14 sts * repeat
3 times, 2 sc in next 4 sts, sc in next 4 sts finish off
Sew the two ends together to form a square.

Leaving a long end, ch 59

Row 3 Ch 3, skipping the first st, dc in the next 5 sts, 2 dc next st, 2 dc next st, 3 dc
next st, 2 dc next st, 2 dc next st, dc in the next 30 sts, 2 dc next st, 2 dc next st, 3 dc
next st, 2 dc next st, 2 dc next st, dc in the next 24 sts, TURN (82 dc)
Row 4 Ch 1, 1 sc in each of the next 25 sts, 2 sc in each of the next 9 sts, 1 sc in the
next 32 sts, 2 sc in each of the next 9 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 7 sts (100 sc)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing and weaving
Weaving:
To weave the sections together, start with the
square and one of the ovals. The top of the
first oval should go under over with the
bottom section going over under, as shown
to the right:
Sew the two section of the oval together, do not
weave in ends and cut off as you can use the
long ends to tack the sections together (see
Optional note below)

Turn counter-clockwise and weave in


the second oval as seen to the left,
with the top of the oval being weaved
(from left) under, over, under over
with the bottom section being weaved
opposite over, under, over, under.
Sew the ends of the second oval
together.
Optional: Continuing to use the long
ends, sew along the sections of the
weave to tack them together to
prevent shifting.
