INTRODUCTION

Library is very useful to everyone especially to students. It has different

books for youths and even old ones. Librarians need to record every book in
the shelves and arrange it according to volumes or like the arrangement of the
Library of Congress (A-Z). It is important for them to keep records for them
to know the books they still have inside the library and which is borrowed.
Most libraries use record books in recording the books they have. Because of
these, librarians and even students consume a lot of time in searching which
book is still available to borrow or to use. This kind of system of library will
make students find an alternative way in searching information they need
than using library. To prevent these to happen, a library system must use.
A library system is use to maintain the records of the books from the
title, author, subject, category, and even the number of shelf and section where
it is. It is also useful in recording the books borrowed and returned, donated
books, and new purchase books. Using this system, librarians can easily
monitor the books in the library.
A poor library system is one of the problems of ELJMC library.

A.SWOT ANALYSIS
Strength:
It can accommodate a number of students to conduct their
studies or research
It allows students to borrow books
Weakness:
Slow service to students and teachers
Books are not properly arrange
Opportunity:
Testing a new system in managing the library
Threat:
There are gadgets that can help students and teachers in
studying and researching. These gadgets are competitors of
library. It can lessen the users of library

B. Problem

Definition:

ELJMC library still uses manual way of recording the books they have,
books borrowed and returned, donated books and bought by the school.

Common problems occur in the library are:

Librarian doesnt know if the books are still in the
library upon asked by the students
Which books are already borrowed
Checking the books consumes a lot of time
With this kind of process the students tend use the
alternative way of searching than using library
Given the following problems that mostly encountered by library
particularly ELJMC, the idea of using new system called computerized
library system will lessen the problems mentioned above. Using this
computerized system will also enhanced the skills of students and teachers in
using the computer since computers in our time is an essential factor consider
particularly in work.

C. Proposed

Solution

The use of this computerized library system will monitor the:

Books borrowed
Books returned
Books donated
Books bought by the school
Books missing
Books on shelves

D. Proposes

System

Proposed system is an automated Library Management System.

Through our software user can add members, add books, search members,
search books, update information, edit information, borrow and return books
in quick time. Our proposed system has the following advantages.

User friendly interface

Fast access to database
Less error
More Storage Capacity
Search facility
Look and Feel Environment
Quick transaction

All the manual difficulties in managing the Library have been rectified
by implementing computerization.

E. System Objective
The following are the objectives of the new system
To check the books situations
To manage problems in the library
To track the books in a more easy way
To update the list of available books
II. Project

Scope and Limitations

The scope of this system includes and excludes the following. The system
will focus only on information about the books.

the system can sort the list according to title, author, subject,
volume, edition

the system can add , and search

the system will tell when the borrowed books must return
The system is not concern if the books in the record are old and almost
destroy. It does not include the price of the book when it is bought and the
donor if the books are donated by someone. It also excludes the information
about the reliability of the book. For example, the Book of Law on Obligations
and Contracts 1996 Edition is less reliable than 2014 edition.

III. Findings
ELJMC library should have a computerized library system in keeping
the record of the books. Librarian will be able to know easily if a certain book
is available or already in the hand of a borrower. Since the system will
automatically update the incoming or outgoing book, it can give the summary
of books in and outside the library. By this, the availability of a certain book
can be easily identified.

In short, librarian will be able to have an easy management on book

held and books held by borrowers.
A .Technical Feasibility
Whatever we think need not be feasible. It is wise to think about the
feasibility of any problem we undertake. Feasibility is the study of impact,
which happens in the organization by the development of a system. The
impact can be either positive or negative. When the positives nominate the
negatives, then the system is considered feasible.
The library has computer for the librarian to use. The role of this is to
record some files about the library, yet this is not maximize because it is used
for other purposes. The current system uses record books in recording books.
With the use of the existing computer, it is not suggested to buy another
one. Therefore it is technically feasible.
B. Operational

Feasibility

The problem will arise when the librarian is not a computer literate. It
will lend the system not feasible because the user itself is not knowledgeable
on machine and the system.
To make it feasible the school may hire computer literate personnel.
Finding of them is easy because nowadays cause even in high school have their

computer subjects. The school may also conduct training on the librarian to
make his/her ready on applying the system.
