ll. Course Description

This course deals with the study on two different branches of Philosophy: Logic and Ethics. It is designed to familiarize the students with the basic
concepts of logical reasoning and develop their analytical skills through exercises. It also involves the formal study of moral standards and judgments which
people create. The students development of correct thinking and reasoning through this course will help them think more deeply about the ethical choices they are
making and will have to make in their respective professional lives.
lll. General Objectives:
At the end of the course, 100% of the students should be able to master at least 95% of the subject matter. They are expected to:
1. Acquaint the students with the moral laws and ethical principles in every conceivable aspect and apply these to lifes situations and problems applicable to their chosen profession;

2. Organize, simple, clear and understandable ideas, terms, proposition, reasoning and method in communicating effective language through oral & written reports;
3. Enhance the students natural logic and develop in them the skills in identifying the material (reasoning) & formal (correctness) object of logic & ethics;
4. Create sound arguments and judgment for smooth flow of communication towards fellowmen using the figures and moods in syllogism;

5. Develop the ability to defend or provide justification for the moral positions taken according to the trend of the time and space;
6. Attain clarity of thoughts and validity in the process of inference & the reliability of judgment using the logical & ethical rules;
7. Analyze problems that may arise from a conflict due to collision between situations and beliefs in the attainment of peace and harmony among different individuals and groups; and

8. Discuss and internalize the Vision, Mission, Philosophy, Goals, Objectives, and Strategy (VMPGOS) of the University and CAS and relate them to the course in their
future work of human endeavor.
lV. Course Outcomes
At the end of the course, 100% of the students should be able to achieve & perform 95% of the subject matter. They are expected to:
1. Point-out and tell on the how and why falsity and truthfulness; proximate and remote validity occurs in the syllogism;
2. Speak logically and ethically during the course discourses with synthetic and evaluative mind through reports;
3. Check & counter-check the logically and ethically valid argument using the formula of figures and moods;
4. Write, demonstrate and explain the memorize logical and ethical principles and rules in decision-making;
5. Analyze and evaluate the logical and ethical truth and value on the multimedia reports.
