Today I am going to talk about Managing

socioemotional environment.
No students shall be subjected to harassment or bullying by employees or students on school
property or at a school function; nor shall any student be subjected to discrimination based on a
persons actual or perceived race, colour, weight, national origin, ethnic group, religion, religious
practise, disability, sexual orientation, gender or sex by school employees or students on school
property or at a school function.

Socioemotional environment emphasizes on building positive interpersonal relationship
between teacher and students in the classroom. By doing this, teaching and learning process
will be easier. When the pupils have a good relationship with the teacher they will create a
sense of belonging and decrease their anxiety level so that they can stay focus in the lesson.
They will be more interested in learning and are willing to do so.
In a classroom teacher need to establish and sustain a class environment free of
harassment, bullying, and discrimination. School climate and culture have a profound impact on
student achievement, behaviour, and reflects the school communitys culture. A schools culture
is largely determined by the values, shared beliefs, and behaviour of all the community in the
school. Social and emotional learning helps students develop fundamental and effective life
skills. Some of the important skills that is needed for them is developing caring and concern for
others despite their belief, culture or religion. In our Malaysian community, we have to cultivate
1Malaysia spirit in accordance to the government vision. Making responsible decision and
handling situations also mean that you have the skill to manage your socio-emotional.
Teacher role is not just by transferring knowledge but to shape the pupils to be a better
individual. By doing activity such as role plays, group works and sharing opinion teacher can
model to be tolerant, always think of other and helping each other is important too. No issue of
racism or any negative element should be raced. Teach them to treat everybody equally.
In the classroom community, teacher can encourage respect and appreciation for
differences. Culture plays a big role in our lives. It influences us in every aspect. When teacher
display an appreciation and respect for their own culture as well as others culture, they are
teaching the pupils acceptance of differences and an appreciation of the qualities in each of us

that make us unique. One of the way teacher can do is by avoid showing favouritism and
biasness.
I end up my lengthy speech by this question,
In this vast changing world, do we need to have more intelligent people or people with
big hearts?
-Judging from the current education system we had produced hundred thousand of straight As.-
