FIRED SHUTDOWN
Turbine trips are part of the Protective Systems. These types of trips cut fuel off
immediately and unit coasts down. This is different from a FIRED SHUTDOWN
where fuel decreases gradually allowing rotor speed to decrease to reduce the
thermal stresses.
