UNIFIED MAINTENANCE HUB (UMH)

GENERAL
Singapores Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)
has been playing a vital role in providing a World
Class transportation system for Singapore,
resulting in smooth traffic flow even during peak
hours and swift response to traffic accidents. The
ITS includes the Expressway Monitoring and
Advisory System (EMAS), the monitoring and
control of green light timing along main roads
(GLIDE), the monitoring of Traffic Junctions at
major intersections (J-Eyes), and the feedback of
Traffic Conditions to the Public using Taxis as
probes on the Road Network (TrafficScan).
The Unified Maintenance Hub (UMH) for the
ITS was provided under Contract RD119 on a
turn-key basis by Singapore Technologies
Electronics Limited. The UMH system serves as

a common platform to manage the maintenance

of the entire traffic systems in Singapore
including:
x Receipt of Maintenance Alarms from the
Intelligent Traffic Systems.
x Generation of Work Orders.
x Automatic Notification of Work Orders to
Maintenance Sub Contractors through Virtual
Private Network (VPN) and by wireless
communications.
x Online Feedback of work status by
Maintenance Sub Contractors
x Preventative Maintenance (PM) Planning and
routing of PM tasks to the Maintenance
Contractors.
x Online Management Key Performance
Indexes and reports on the overall
Maintenance status.
