PREFACE
Higher National Diploma in Engineering diploma course which has three year academic
works and six months in plant training ,divided in to period is a one of major course ,producing
student with innovative technical, after two years academic period in HNDE course according to
my choice I was selected for Ceylon Cold Stores ,as my training establishment, which is the
major supplier of beverages in sri lanka .I include this report about my industrial training
experience that I gathered during three months trainee period This involves introduction to the
training establishment and organization structure of the CCS .then explain about the industrial
safety before stars the explanation of training stuff. After that gradually I explain in the CCS
production, Report contents training experience taken by myself in the duration of my training.
The content of the report is not the whole of the stuff got from the training period. it only carries
the new thing that learned from the training period .

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Higher National Diploma in Engineering (HNDE) is a 3&1/2 years full time diploma course,
which is under Ministry Education. The HNDE course contains 6-month in-plant training period,
which is divided in to two parts. First part contain 3 months of training period, at the end of
second academic year and next part of' the training period also containing another three months
is at the end of the final examination.
This in-plant training was prepared as a part of the three months training of the second year
electrical (power) engineering student who will be receiving diploma. The training was jointly
organized by the department of electrical engineering of Higher National Diploma in
Engineering (HNDE) and National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA).
I would like to offer my gratefulness to Director of Higher National Diploma in Engineering
Mrs. P.H.A. Ariyarathna, the Head of the Electrical Department and all other Lecturers in
engineering division of the institute and NAITA official staff for organizing my three months
training period at the Ceylon Cold Stores in a very effective and systematic manner.
I am grateful to Engineer Mr. Aruna Hewawasam and Mr. Chathurange Jayathilake
providing us the
for
opportunity to undergo this training at the Ceylon Cold stores. I would also
like to thank for the Engineers ,Electrical foreman's, Technician and Workers at CCS for their cooperation to make the respective a success.
During this 3 months training period I was able to improve my knowledge on the application of
theories, which I have been studying during the academic course. Also I have gained valuable
experience and good knowledge about electricity and also some mechanical works .
This period of training is helpful to my job and I think this will be a prime step to the vast
electrical engineering field in the future.
